<p>Sirte, 11 Sept. (AKI) - Coca Cola is an African beverage, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was reported as saying on Monday.</p>
<p>Speaking during celebrations for the 7th anniversary of the African Union in Sirte, his hometown, Gaddafi claimed that the US-drink was African as "its essences come from our plants and so multinationals must pay compensation to us."</p>
