Providing Donald Trump’s $175 million appeal bond when other insurers wouldn’t is business as usual for California financier Don Hankey. As chairman of the Los Angeles-based Hankey Group of Companies, which includes an insurer, a subprime auto lender and a commercial real estate investment firm, Hankey has amassed a fortune lending to borrowers other financial firms shun. Hankey’s assistance to Trump has brought the little-known billionaire into the spotlight. But in recent years, several of his companies’ operations attracted the attention of the U.S. Justice Department, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the California Department of Insurance. Since 2015, regulators...

I have not seen the name of the Season Premire episode for the new season of South Park(March 14th)...but just thought that given the media attention about Birth Control/Catholics/Sandra Fluke would make a humurous episode and be right up the Creators alley.....

This week’s lookalikes, actor Ted Danson and former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, come to us courtesy of an anonymous reader who saw the big hair and even bigger foreheads and couldn’t resist. Our tipster got it right, especially when channeling Danson’s previous life as Boston’s beloved bartender Sam Malone on the hit TV show Cheers. Though given his Mormon roots, it’s unlikely Romney would have frequented Sam’s watering hole during his stint as Massachusetts’s governor. But the two men share that as well — Danson’s character was a recovering alcoholic and avoided partaking in libations.

VICTORIA, British Columbia -- Mr. Floatie, a community activist who dresses up in a feces costume to decry the pumping of raw sewage into the waters off British Columbia's capital, has withdrawn his name as a candidate for mayor. The city had planned to challenge Mr. Floatie's candidacy in court. James Skwarok, the man inside the costume, said the city apparently took issue with his candidacy because only real people can run for municipal office. "Of course I'm not a real person," Skwarok said earlier this week. "I'm a big piece of poop." Skwarok was not available for further comment....

While certainly not limited to the 20-30 something crowd, viewers of South Park tend to be the latchkey offspring of the infamous Baby Boomers. These children of MTV and video games have extremely limited attention spans and as a result are always moving from one experience to the next in hopes of finding fulfillment. Unfortunately, all they are finding in South Park is a wasteland.
