Charles Barkley is no stranger to blaming President Trump for everything, but now the former NBA star is blaming the president for Team USA’s loss to Canada. Canada defeated the U.S. 3-2 in the 4 Nations Face-Off championship game on Thursday night in Boston. The win was extra bitter for the Americans, considering they had just beaten the Canadians 3-1 on Saturday night in Montreal. One of the many subplots to the game was President Trump’s joking suggestion that Canada become the “51st state.” In addition, Canadians had been booing the U.S. anthem due to the “51st state” comment and...

The “shocking” murder of Sayreville, New Jersey, Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour does not initially appear to be politically motivated, according to Garden State Gov. Phil Murphy. Murphy told WNYC Thursday that the murder late Wednesday — in which the 30-year-old Republican was repeatedly shot in her SUV, which then crashed with her slumped over the wheel — felt “very specific.” “Unfortunately, there’s very little that is known right now,” Murphy said in his weekly sit-down with the radio show, according to NJ.com. But “it does not appear to be related to her position as an elected councilwoman in Sayreville,” he said...

Almost 50 percent of Republicans, along with 45 percent of independents, said the same.

We’ve recently brought to your attention two instances of nebulous language: the comments of retired General Wesley Clark about putting extremists in internment camps, and the new order making parts of our immigration naturalization oath optional for certain “religious” groups. Words have meaning, and when they’re not specific, they’re left to interpretation. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has demonstrated such by redefining the taxing authority of the Congress, as well as what a State means when it comes to the Affordable Care Act. And now we have yet another example of dangerously nebulous language emanating from Capitol...

The August 2011 IDF recruitment cycle will begin Monday, July 24. The youth joining the IDF in this cycle were born in the summer and fall of 1993 – just when then-Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin signed the ill-fated Oslo Accords with PLO strongman Yasser Arafat. When the “Oslo babies” were three years old, savage Hamas terrorists began blowing up buses full of civilian men, women and children inside Israel. When they were seven years old, Arafat launched the terror war dubbed by many as “the Oslo War,” which killed over 1,000 Israelis, most of them civilians, and injured many thousands...

About a year and a half ago, Marina Khodorkovsky, the long-suffering mother of jailed oil magnate Mikhail Khodorkovsky, said that she had little optimism for her son's fate as long as Russia's President Vladimir Putin and his team remained in power. Mother knows best, as they say. Russian prosecutors are cobbling together more charges against Khodorkovsky, which means the former Yukos chief's jail sentence could yet be beefed up. This will put an end to the politically ambitious tycoon's hopes of release from jail before the 2008 presidential elections. Khodorkovsky was convicted in May 2005 after a trial widely seen...

Monkeys motivated with laziness 'cure' By Roger Highfield, Science Editor (Filed: 13/08/2004) Scientists have managed to turn procrastinating primates into workaholic monkeys by switching off a gene in the brain circuit. Like many humans, monkeys tend to slack when a goal is distant, but work harder as a deadline looms. But scientists in the United States have found a gene therapy - blocking the brain messenger chemical, dopamine - that makes the animals work hard all the time. The monkeys, which had been trained to perform simple computer tasks in return for treats, lost their sense of balance between a...
