BAGRAM, Afghanistan (AP) — Gunmen fired a rocket into a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan, then fled over the Pakistani border with helicopters in pursuit, the U.S. military said Wednesday. The rocket was launched from a truck on Tuesday near the town of Lwara, said Capt. Alayne Cramer, a spokeswoman at the U.S. military headquarters at Bagram Air Base. At least three men were seen fleeing in the vehicle and were pursued by U.S. attack helicopters until the truck crossed the border into Pakistan, Cramer said.
