MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A court official is recommending substance abuse treatment and home detention for the mother of a missing toddler while she awaits trial on welfare fraud. Federal records show pretrial services officer Brian Kilgore wants the court to intervene in the case of 29-year-old Lena Lunsford, who was caught with synthetic drugs called bath salts. Lunsford's 3-year-old daughter Aliayah (uh-LEE-uh) vanished from her Lewis County home Sept. 24 and hasn't been found. A missing girl may be in the company of a former Bedford County school resource officer. Authorities are looking for Audrey Marie McCombs. She is 16 and from Bedford County. Investigators believe she may be in the company of Earnest Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs, a former Bedford County Sheriffs deputy, is on bond awaiting prosecution on numerous felony charges in Bedford County. Grubbs was a school resource officer at Liberty High School. He was fired after being accused of having inappropriate contact with a student at Liberty High School.

The FBI has joined the search for a 2-year-old Washington state boy who was last seen by his mother inside a parked car. Sky Metalwala was reported missing Sunday morning after his mother discovered him missing from her car in Bellevue, Wash. The child's mother told police that she had run out of gas and left the boy buckled into his car seat while she and her 4-year-old daughter walked to a Chevron gas station, about a mile away. When the pair returned to the silver Acura approximately an hour later, the 2-year-old boy was gone, Fox affiliate KCPQ-TV reports....

The foreign ministry is apparently aware of the disappearance but can do little, given the closed nature of stalinist North Korea. STEWARTSTOWN — One week after an 11-year-old seemingly vanished from the home she shared with her mother and stepfather, the body of Celina Cass was recovered Monday from the Connecticut River, about a half-mile from where she lived. “We brought Celina home,” said New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young, her voice cracking at times during a media briefing Monday night, “obviously not the way we wanted to bring her home.” Young said Cass' death is being treated as suspicious and a criminal investigation is under way, “based on what we have seen visually.”

The body of a missing Midland man has been located. Family members of Seth Thompson have confirmed his body was recovered in Eaton County, that's about 20 miles from Lansing. The 83-year-old man was last seen in June leaving Midland for Lansing with a suspicious man who owed him money. We have put in several calls to Midland police and the Eaton County sheriff's department but they are not releasing any details.

State officials are announcing today the state of Missouri is taking over the listing of the names of the dead and unaccounted for. NBC Action News has learned that 232 names have been formally filed with the state as missing and that the estimate of 1,500 unaccounted for is considered much higher than the reality.
