Earlier this month, an Associated Press probe of FBI figures revealed that, despite technological advances in criminalistics, it’s just easier to get away with murder nowadays. The clearance rate of homicides, or cases solved in a year, stood at 61 percent nationwide in 2007, a steady slip over the decades from the first year of modern record-keeping, 1963, when the clearance rate was 91 percent. In addition to DNA and other scientific advances that should be helping catch more criminals, not fewer, law enforcement also now has the benefit of reaping tips and captures with the help of modern media....

The impoverished nation on the Horn of Africa is caught up in an Islamic insurgency and hasn't had a functioning government in 17 years. "We are not sure who is responsible," said Hussein Samatar, a community leader and uncle to a 17-year-old who traveled to Somalia. "But we, as a community, believe they have to be held accountable."

For anyone following the occurence of the Red star on Obama merchandise on democratnationalcommittee.com, THE RED STARS ARE GONE!!! I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I do know that the parent company that posts the site is owned by a former Republican Representative from Iowa! Take it for what it's worth... was it a private slam on Obama? That's my take on it. I could share more, but it would serve no good purpose. So, whether it was just a design that meant nothing or if it was a personal message we may never know!
