Tucker Carlson said he's not sure he can support the Republican party after a Florida congressman called for Gaza to be nuked. Congressman Randy Fine, who was recently elected to replace Mike Waltz in Florida as the preferred candidate of President Trump, made the jaw dropping comments in a Fox News interview last month. • Pledge of Allegiance - precedents of Goodwin's decision

I've read many articles/conclusions on the decision and personally deplore the ruling. I agree that his motivations were personal, his decision infringed upon first Amendment freedoms, and the left's immediate push to stay the decision was nothing more than motivation to continue their ability to stonewall Bush's nominations. On the legal side I am not an attorney and don't understand Goodwin's reasoning behind his opinion. How did he misinterpret/misapply SCOTUS precedent?
