AFTER A 50-YEAR siege, the great strategic fortress of liberalism has fallen. With the elevation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court seems secure for constitutionalism — perhaps for decades. The shrieks from the gallery of the Senate chamber as the vote came in last Saturday, and the sight of that bawling mob clawing at the doors of the Supreme Court as the new justice took his oath, confirm it. The Democratic Party has sustained a historic defeat. And the triumph is President Trump’s. To unite the party whose nomination he had won, Donald Trump pledged to select his high...

Bill and Hillary Clinton are going on tour. The Clintons announced on Monday that they would headline a series of live events together -- billed "An Evening with The Clintons" -- across the country in the final weeks of 2018 and into 2019. The tour will provide the Democratic stalwarts with a notable platform weeks after the consequential 2018 midterm elections and deep into 2019, when a number of Democrats will be jockeying for positions in the fight to be the party's standard bearer against President Donald Trump in 2020. The events, which are being produced by tour promoter Live...

The only thing that’ll make the Kavanaugh saga sweeter for righties at this point is watching their least favorite lawyer get the Billy Batts treatment from his Democratic frenemies. He’s spent the past six months telling them to go get their shinebox. They were destined to stomp him as soon as an opportunity presented itself. “Well you know at some point there were a lot of folks coming forward making all sorts of accusations,” said Sen. Gary Peters, a Michigan Democrat, when asked about the allegations raised by Avenatti and his client. “It turns it into a circus atmosphere and...

Since his presidency, Walker needs to fix the world and make...

A 22-pound rock that has been propping open a door in Michigan for decades turns out to be a meteorite valued at $100,000, according to Central Michigan University. Mona Sirbescu, a CMU geology professor, gets asked all the time by people to examine the rocks they bring her — but none ever turn out to be an official space rock. “For 18 years, the answer has been categorically ‘no’ — meteor wrongs, not meteorites,” Sibescu said in a statement from CMU on Thursday. But that all changed when she was asked to examine an oddly shaped large rock that a...

Central Michigan University geology professor Mona Sirbescu gets asked all the time if rocks people possess are meteorites, valuable rocks from space. "For 18 years, the answer has been categorically 'no'... But this latest rock was the real thing..." "I could tell right away that this was something special," she said of the 22-plus pound meteorite, described as the sixth-largest recorded find in Michigan and worth potentially $100,000. "It's the most valuable specimen I have ever held in my life, monetarily and scientifically," she added. David Mazurek says he took his doorstop to the university for examination in January, after...

Ford Motor Co. will reorganize its salaried workforce worldwide, flatten its business operations and create a more efficient company that results in fewer white collar jobs, the Detroit Free Press reported. Ford has 201,000 employees globally, including an estimated 70,000 salaried workers, and is the largest car manufacturing employer in the U.S. The company didn't say how many jobs would be affected. The Dearborn-based automaker told employees about the plan on Thursday, the Free Press reported, saying the changes are part of trying to identify how the company can become stronger by limiting corporate bureaucracy and identifying weaknesses in all...

A Michigan man recently discovered that the rock he had been using as a doorstop for years was actually a meteorite valued at at least $100,000. ..."For 18 years, the answer has been categorically 'no' — meteor wrongs, not meteorites," Sirbescu said jokingly in a CMU statement. It wasn't until this year that her answer was finally changed to a yes. ...After purchasing the land, the man put the rock to good use — a trusty doorstep like it had been for most of its Earth life. That's how it landed with Sirbescu, who then took the meteorite to one...

I like to watch this Invisible People series on You Tube. A lot of very neat people on the streets with some amazing stories. Just saw this one today. I was watching and thinking what a cool, smart guy he is. Towards the ending he tells the interviewer he is a Trump supporter so I thought I would share with FR, but I was impressed with him anyway even before he said he was a supporter. I hope he can get his health back fully and get off the streets. This video was made back in April so not sure...

The growing attempt to personally destroy superstar Kanye West has moved to Detroit where a radio station has banned the superstar’s music. The fallout continues against Kanye West is growing. Experiencing extreme weather is not enough to convince climate change skeptics than humans are damaging the environment, a new study shows. Political bias and partisan news reporting influence whether people report experiencing certain extreme weather events, the research suggests. But Americans who lived in areas where a variety of extreme events were recorded -- flood, tornado, hurricane, and drought -- were ultimately no more likely to share the same beliefs about climate change as scientists. The University of Exeter, University of Michigan and University of Texas research found that Republicans were less likely to report experiencing a polar vortex, while...
