As images of protests in Southern California have flooded television and social media in recent days, a key question has emerged: Why are so many protesters carrying Mexican flags at an American political protest? The sea of red, white and green Mexican flags at anti-deportation protests this week in Los Angeles has been seized upon by conservatives who argue that the demonstrations are inherently un-American, causing some protesters to consider leaving them at home. Photos of masked provocateurs waving Mexican flags atop burning Waymo taxis spread instantly across conservative social media this weekend. Republicans pointed to them as a prime...

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized the ICE raids that catalyzed days-long protests in Los Angeles, saying the city "wouldn't be what it is" without migrants. "They migrate out of need and send resources to their families from there," the president added. "Mexicans will always have our backing and demand that their human rights be respected. They must know that, should they wish to return to Mexico, we will welcome them with open arms." The White House said it is circumventing a law usually needed to deploy National Guard troops to a state, which requires a state governor to request it...

NEAR FALFURRIAS — The sun blazed Tuesday afternoon as Eddie Canales and Anna Ibarra of the South Texas Human Rights Center took turns striking a three-foot metal rod into the ground with a sledge hammer for the first of 12 new water stations. “Today is important for us because this is the first time we are allowed to set these stations up in this particular ranch,” said Canales, who allowed The Monitor to ride along with him on the condition the name of the ranch was not disclosed. As the heat index climbed to over 110 degrees, Canales, 68, and...

Via the Daily Rushbo, right on both counts. It wasn’t so much an anti-Trump riot, Limbaugh notes, as an anti-Trump-supporter riot “since they are really violently protesting … American citizens exercising their constitutional right to express their political opinion.” Indeed. Anti-American, straight up. And the more violence there is aimed at Trump and his fans, especially by people waving Mexican flags, the more swing voters will conclude that an authoritarian whose centerpiece proposal involves a border wall might be just what the doctor ordered after all. He’s also right that some well-known lefties were quick to denounce the riot last...

California schools posted standardized test scores Wednesday for the first time in two years, and the results were not stellar. Just one-third of the state’s public-school students were tested as proficient for their grade level in math and only 44 percent in English, state education officials said. Under the old test in 2013, 51 percent of students were proficient in math and 56 percent in English.

ANAHEIM – Two men were shot late Sunday night, and one died Monday morning, in an unincorporated area west of the city, officials said. Dave Bruce Douglas, 51, and a second man were in a Ford SUV around 10 p.m. Sunday near Lullaby Lane and Poona Drive when they had a confrontation with three to five men who were on foot outside of the vehicle, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said. Both men live in the neighborhood and drove by the group who were in their late teens or early 20s and who were spray painting, or tagging,...

Real-estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a boycott of Macy's on Wednesday after the retail company said it would drop Trump's products. Earlier in the day, Macy's said it was snubbing Trump because of the "disparaging characterizations" he made about Mexican immigrants during his campaign launch. Among other things, Trump accused Mexico of sending its "rapists" and drug dealers to the US. In addition to blasting Macy's in an official statement, Trump attacked Macy's in a series of tweets for being "weak on border security" Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-boycott-macys-2015-7#ixzz3ergFOT2w

Something that is being overlooked in this whole illegal invasion by aliens and our government’s inability to do anything about it is our own elderly. Many older Americans who have worked hard all their lives and paid taxes and Social Security so that they could live in some comfort when they reached the age of retirement are being left in the dust. Congress can give 12 million illegal aliens the right to stay in this nation to protest, procreate, receive support monies, attend schools, avoid paying income taxes, and cause our teachers to have 300 hours each of English as...
