Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized the ICE raids that catalyzed days-long protests in Los Angeles, saying the city "wouldn't be what it is" without migrants.
"They migrate out of need and send resources to their families from there," the president added. "Mexicans will always have our backing and demand that their human rights be respected. They must know that, should they wish to return to Mexico, we will welcome them with open arms."
The White House said it is circumventing a law usually needed to deploy National Guard troops to a state, which requires a state governor to request it
On the streets, protesters clashed with law enforcement, with agents deploying tear gas, pepper spray and flash-bang grenades to disperse crowds that were throwing objects at them, including rocks and Molotov cocktails. Many moved to block traffic on the 101 freeway until law enforcement cleared them by the late afternoon.
Clashes continued through the night, and the Los Angeles Police Department declared the Civic Center area in downtown Los Angeles an "unlawful assembly." Authorities added that some stores were being looted and at least five driverless Waymo cars had been set on fire.
Border czar Tom Homan defended the decision, threatening to arrest Newsom and Bass if they sought to block the operation. Newsom challenged the official to do so, saying "Tom, arrest me. Let's go."
The Associated Press reported that protesters shouted "shame" and "go home" at the hundreds of guards who arrived in Los Angeles. The Trump administration ordered the deployment of 2,000 troops, while roughly 500 Marines are in stand by in case they are called.

They’re going wild in the streets
Wild, wild, wild, wild
Wild in the streets
Wild in the streets
Wild in the streets
Wild in the streets
In the heat of the summer
Better call out a plumber
Turn on the steam pipe
Cool me off
With your big crime fighters
And your newspaper writers
Still need a drugstore
To cure my buzz
Wild in the streets, running, running
Wild in the streets, running, running
Wild in the streets, running, running
Wild in the streets
‘64 valiant, hand full of valiums
Couple of beers really do me right
You better believe us,better trust us
Teenage jive,walking wreck
She’s right,it’s a shitehole
Resounding endorsement of your wonderful country's opportunities, Claudia....
She ain't wrong.
It wouldn’t be what it’s become, a copy of the s***hole that spawned them. That’s the point, Signora.
She’s actually right for all the wrong reasons, with the migrants you are watching a modern American city being turned into a 3rd world hell hole, full of illegal migrants and being run by a former Fidel Castro supporter.
Without the migrants, you might have a chance to elect someone who isn’t a committed communist as mayor and isn’t being overrun with the homeless and crime.
Mexican President Sheinbaum Reacts To L.A. Unrest, Claims City 'Wouldn't Be What It Is' Without MigrantsYou sure that's where you wanted to go, Madam President?
If your "migrants" are so great, why don't you keep them in Mexico?
Was the first thought that came to my mind.
Hey lady! Come get your citizens!
Illegal Aliens are NOT migrants.
I don’t remember Gov George Wallace requesting the National Guard in 1065. Pres Kennedy federalized and sent it anyway. Maybe the media should research Executive Order 11111.
I can't wait.
She is right. It wouldnt be on fire.
On fire?
Dang. For once I agree with her.
I suspect Sheinbaum fails to understand the irony of that statement.
That is true.
It would be a much nicer, cleaner, safer place.
If she thinks they’re so special, she should invite them back.
An old German ho. Big deal. If what she says is true, why the hell are the retarded illegal aliens burning it down?
