Out of the Closet; Into the Church Homo McGreevey Finds Higher Calling thelastcrusade.org What does a gay governor do after he resigns from political office in disgrace? He becomes an Episcopalian and enters the priesthood. Jim McGreevey, the former New Jersey love gov, has gone from Turnpike truck stops to All Saints Church in Hoboken, where he is known as “Father Jim.” Last Sunday, the ex governor administered the sacrament of baptism to a bevy of babies, blessed the Eucharist, and carried the cross during the processional. In 2004, Mr. McGreevey resigned as Governor of New Jersey after revealing...

Big jobs: No experience needed Sunday, October 10, 2004 It's no surprise that Sean Murray-Nolan's job title - "executive director of the office of the governor of New Jersey" - seemed rather exalted for a 27-year-old.He made it up.And if you ask Murray-Nolan's colleagues what his $78,000-a-year job actually entailed, you are met with silence. Then chuckling."Well, he may have had that title but it didn't mean squat,'' said one former senior aide to Governor McGreevey. Two former high-ranking McGreevey aides say Murray-Nolan was one of several governor's office employees who were told to fabricate high-sounding - and meaningless - job...

In his highly anticipated memoir, former Gov. James E. McGreevey writes of his deep love for the man who ended his political career, the destruction of his second marriage and the events that forced him into his stunning admission on national television that he is gay. In "The Confession," the former governor also touches on New Jersey's sometimes seamy political landscape, where cash, cronyism and a handful of powerful men intersect. But the 384-page book focuses mostly on McGreevey's secret life, from his frequent sexual encounters with men at highway rest stops to his infatuation with Golan Cipel, the Israeli...

Former N.J. Governor Talks to Oprah TRENTON, N.J. Sep 12, 2006 (AP)— Former Gov. James E. McGreevey, who had been publicly silent since announcing two years ago that he was gay and was resigning, arrived at the studios of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" Tuesday to tell his story. Winfrey landed the exclusive interview with McGreevey because of her sense of faith and spirituality, according to friends of the former governor. McGreevey is said to be a fan of Winfrey's education and anti-poverty work, two issues to which the former governor is devoting more time in his post-political life. The 49-year-old...

NEW HIMBO           September 13, 2005 -- FORMER New Jersey Gov. and "Gay American" Jim McGreevey is so over his ex, former aide Golan Cipel. McGreevey, whose affair with Cipel caused him to step down as governor last year, was having a romantic dinner Sunday night at Maroons in Chelsea on West 16th Street. "I don't know who the guy is, but he was blond-haired, blue eyes, nice build — a very attractive typical Chelsea guy," said our source.

A few hours ago, Bob Grant on his WOR Radio show mentioned the name Freerepublic.com in connection with a breaking scandal involving NJ Governor James McGreevey that would SURELY result in his resignation if the facts of the scandal could be proved. He indicated that he read this on Freerepublic, (apparently as a post) but would not divulge any particulars, since he couldn't verify the purported facts himself. I've searched FR for 10 minutes and could find nothing current on McGreevey. Anyone out there hear this, or know anything about it?

Negotiations in progress as shutdown nearsBy JOHN P. McALPIN AP Political Writer June 28, 2003, 4:54 PM EDT TRENTON, N.J.(AP) _ Legislators came to work Saturday, ordered by Gov. James E. McGreevey to agree on a budget and a series of tax and fee increases or else deal with a shuttered state government. The Senate Budget Committee, where Republicans have blocked the budget by refusing to vote on any measure that raises taxes, must act by midnight Saturday so the full house can vote Monday. Monday is the constitutional deadline for a balanced budget. Without one, McGreevey says all operations,...

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use. TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The corporate parent of Macy's and Bloomingdale's said it will cut jobs and possibly close stores, blaming a new tax that more than doubles what the chain pays to the state. Federated Department Stores Inc. will also curtail hiring and end plans to remodel or expand existing stores, the company chairman said Tuesday. The announcement is the first such complaint since the law was approved last week. The retail chain claims it paid $4.4 million in state corporate taxes last year. Now, thanks to a law Gov....
