In 2022, Kari Lake narrowly lost the race for Arizona governor to Katie Hobbs. Many pundits predicted a bright future for the outspoken former television news broadcaster in the MAGA Republican Party. But this month, Lake came up short again, this time by a larger margin, in her Senate race against Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.). She ran eight points behind Donald Trump and six points behind GOP candidates for the House of Representatives in Arizona.

Meghan McCain mercilessly tore into Kari Lake as a 'loser' after projections show her failing in her bid for the U.S. Senate. While the Arizona Senate race has not officially been called, Decision Desk HQ has Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) winning against the Republican candidate. In response, McCain posted to X a meme of Lake at the wheel of a vehicle and the message: 'Get in loser, we're going losering.'

Arizona Republicans are now more likely to vote for Dr. Ben Carson than mogul and television personality Donald Trump in 2016, a Thursday poll showed. The poll, conducted by MBQF Consulting, asked 1,057 high-efficacy Republican voters which GOP candidate they would vote for in the 2016 election. The results said 25.5 percent of Republican voters back Carson, while 24.8 percent back Trump. Carson’s lead does fall within the poll’s margin of error. Last month, Trump led Arizona voters by about 8 percentage points. Trump is also trailing Carson in some national polls. “Well, I don’t get it,” a confounded Trump...

“Right now, the ball is in the Republican court,” said The Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, a coalition of evangelical churches. Both Rodriguez and Noorani were among a handful of grassroots leaders who sat down with Obama this week to discuss immigration. “The question is whether or not Republicans want to alienate for many generations the Hispanic electorate, the immigrant community and now possibly the faith and family-values community that currently supports immigration reform,” the pastor added. “That’s the question that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner need to answer.” But a recent nationwide Quinnipiac...

Melanie Bowers, 13, and her parents walked into Athens High School Monday afternoon to talk to campus police. They were hoping to get some answers. "It never should have happened in the first place. The whole assignment was a silly assignment and they should have contacted us immediately after it happened," said J.R. Bowers, Melanie's father. It was an assignment for history class--to make a protest sign for or against an issue, and Melanie said she chose illegal immigration. Her sign read, "If you love our nation, stop illegal immigration." Somehow, Melanie said the sign got passed around lunch and...
