House Bill 451 will have its first hearing in the Ohio Senate on Tuesday. The bill, which would affect who decides a person on life support’s fate, was drafted in response to the 2011 stabbing death of local woman, Maria Vera. In particular, the bill would offer protections in the case that spouses were in the middle of a divorce, legal separation or dissolution.
