A man in camouflage who alarmed Madison neighbors when he walked down a street with an uncased shotgun Saturday morning turned out to be a hunter thwarted by city parking. The Madison Police Department said in a statement that the man, a University of Wisconsin student, had been hunting outside the city and was unable to find parking close to his residence. He decided to walk home from his parked vehicle with an uncased shotgun, police said.

Leadership: Sarah Palin hit it out of the park in a speech this past weekend in Wisconsin. She dazzled because, of all things, she reached out to her opponents. When was the last time we saw that coming out of the White House? Amazingly, Palin's words offered common ground between Tea Party taxpayers and public employee union members, who've until now been at odds with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's attempt to balance the state budget. "What I have to say today I say it to our good patriotic brothers and sisters who are in unions ... a pension is a...

Palin heads to Wisconsin, ground zero of the budget battle, and gives a searing speech. Did you see Palin’s Tea Party speech in Wisconsin Saturday? The woman was on fire! On Congress: We didn’t elect you just to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn’t elect you just to stand back and watch Obama redistribute those deck chairs. What we need is for you to stand up GOP, and fight! On the president: The only future that Obama is trying to win is his re-election. He’s willing to mortgage your children’s future to ensure his own. And...

If Sarah Palin’s not running for president, what a terrible waste that would be of the single best stump speech I’ve heard since, well, Palin’s ’08 convention speech, which just happened to be the single most electrifying political moment of my adult life. A thrill didn’t just run up my leg that night, it ran up everything in me that’s American, and today in Madison, WI, it happened again. Surrounded by an obnoxiously hostile, astro-turfed, pro-union crowd that tried and failed to drown out her message with obnoxiously hostile astro-turfed noise, the former Alaskan Governor took the fight directly to...

Sarah Palin unleashed a withering critique of congressional Republicans Saturday, lambasting them for not cutting spending deeper and faster, and saying the party needs to “fight like a girl.” "We didn’t elect you just to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic," Palin said during a rally in front of the Wisconsin statehouse in Madison. "What we need from you, GOP, is to fight." Pointing to the national champion University of Wisconsin women's hockey team, Palin said the GOP could learn from its resolve and “needs to learn how to fight like a girl."

MADISON, WI - University of Wisconsin System regents on Friday fired a professor convicted of sending naked pictures of himself to a detective posing as a 14-year-old boy. Another UW-Madison professor convicted of stalking a former girlfriend last year agreed to resign this week rather than fight to try to save his job, the school said Friday. The firing of comparative literature professor L. Keith Cohen and resignation of human oncology professor Steven Clark means three professors convicted of felonies last year are no longer affiliated with the university. The board in February fired Roberto Coronado, a medical physiology professor...

Run Against Bush also has "Jog Against Bush" jaunts. As I've commented before, they have no "Run FOR Kerry" shindigs. I wonder why?? Hee hee hee. From their blog: Madison, WI - Get on TV! I just got off the phone with a...

Meet Amy Williams, 23, and Meagan Kleinhenz, 22. The gals were popped Saturday (1/25) by Madison, Wisconsin police and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior. But we're gonna let the local cops explain exactly what happened, according to a media release: "As officers were on foot patrol in the 500 block of State St., they observed a large crowd in front of Nogginz. As officers walked closer they saw two females who were directly in front of the clear storefront window, with the lights on, engaging in sexual acts for display. Apparently Williams was not wearing any clothing, except for...
