State police filed charges against a Williamsport Area High School teacher on September 30th for allegedly having sex with a student. According to Trooper Matthew Miller, Michelle L. Pulizzi, 52, of Williamsport, is accused of criminal solicitation of sex with the student. The yearly tradition of the 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride has officially been canceled for 2020. The Memorial Ride and Coalition works to honor the lives lost in the tragedy of 9/11 & to raise assistance funds for any severely injured or deceased First Responder within Lycoming County. The 42 mile ride passes through 19 individual municipalities in Lycoming County & is attended by 10,000 bikers and over 20,000 community spectators. Please understand that this decision was forced upon us. We are disappointed, disheartened, and quite frankly, just plain disgusted about this."

WILLIAMSPORT – A software issue resulted in 61 Lycoming County voters receiving eight mail-in ballots for the June 2 primary election. ElectionIQ of Stowe, Ohio, which is processing the applications for the county, accepted blame. It said the error occurred when data was being processed through Postal Service sorting software on March 31. The service provider immediately “overnighted” a letter to each of the 61 and explained it was an isolated incident. A teenage girl and her boyfriend have been charged in Lycoming County in what state police have described as a murder-for-hire scheme. Dillian Mikel Weaver, 19, of Williamsport, and Angelina Grace Peluso, 16, of Trout Run, are accused of wanting to kill her stepfather, Howard Blackburn. State police said they were angry because of his reaction to catching them in bed. There was no killing because an individual recruited to participate went to police.
