Three decades ago to the day, the Waco siege came to a tragic end. It shares its gruesome anniversary with another horrific event, that of the Oklahoma City bombing, but what do we remember about what happened in the Texas city also known for the birthplace of Dr Pepper, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. What happened in the Waco siege? The siege occurred in 1993 when the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) attempted to execute a search warrant at the Mount Carmel Center ranch, which was the home of...

On August 21, 1992,” Randy Weaver later testified, federal marshals shot my son Samuel in the back and killed him. He was running home to me. His last words were, ‘I’m coming, Dad.’ They shot his little arm almost off and they killed him by shooting him in the back with a 9-millimeter submachine gun. The gun had a silencer on it. He was not wanted for any crime. He did not commit any crime. The marshals killed his dog right at his feet. He only tried to defend himself and his dog. Sammy was just 14 years old. He...

Former AG backs the Democrats’ Jan. 6 show trial.. Last week, former Attorney General William Barr told the Democrats’ Jan. 6 Committee he hadn’t seen evidence of voter fraud on a scale that could have affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. In late November of 2020, Barr told reporters, “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.” Before the 2020 election, voters may recall, Joe Biden openly touted “the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” Voter fraud is a...

I am absolutely floored by the depiction of what happened that is being given in this miniseries. As a kid in high school, I remember this happening. I even live in Texas. I remember watching the news conferences and even watched it burn live on t.v. I am not naive enough to believe the official ATF accounts, but holy cow. The portrayal of the raid is absolutely BRUTAL in showing how the ATF attacked without provocation. I literally cannot believe that the Hollywierd types allowed this to be produced in this way, since they love to lump all religious people...

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — When Sara Weaver saw her father Randy struck in the shoulder by a government sniper's bullet in the Idaho wilderness in August 1992, she began to sprint back to the family's cabin on a mountaintop called Ruby Ridge. As the 16-year-old closed in, her mother, Vicki, opened the cabin door and stood behind it, holding Sara Weaver's 10-month-old sister in her arms. Just then, a sniper's bullet struck her mother in the head, killing her.

I need freeper help with a little research project I'm doing on the outcome of Idaho's attempt to prosecute Lon Horiuchi for the murder of Vicky Weaver. If my memory serves me well (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't) the Idaho prosecutor won a 9th circuit appeal and was set to go ahead with prosecuting Horiuchi. Then, as I remember it, the prosecutor him/her self was indicted on some federal corruption charge. I seem to remember this prosecutor resigning, and his/her successor decides not to go ahead with prosecution. The help I need: 1)Anyone know the original prosecutor's name? 2)...
