Nearly a day after a late-night convenience-store encounter in McMinnville led to the stabbing death of Linfield College football player Parker Moore, 20, police still don't know why it happened. "We don't have an idea of that at all," said Capt. Tim Svenson of the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office. "We don't have anything to explain or connect the two. It wasn't a robbery gone wrong, it wasn't an altercation. ... Hopefully in the next couple of days we'll be able to piece it all together."

A group of about 100 high school students traveling from New York to Atlanta were thrown off a flight, along with their chaperones, after the pilot and crew lost patience with some kids who wouldn't sit down and put away their cellphones.
