While Washington averted a government shutdown this week, California Governor Jerry Brown continues with his budget battles. The governor may feel like he’s in a recurring nightmare these days. Everywhere he turns with a proposed budget fix it gets shot down. “If we don’t get taxes, if we don’t get cuts, we’re gonna have a hard time balancing the budget,” Brown said. “Many of the Republicans told me, ‘We’re not taxing and we’re not cutting. It’s your job — you’re the governor.’” But Republicans who show up to protest at many of the governor’s events these days say it’s Brown...

BOOK REVIEW & DISCUSSION: Ain't Got No Cigarettes: Memories of Music Legend Roger Miller By Lyle E Style "It's an endless story about Roger. He was one of the cleverest people I've ever met in my life." (Waylon Jennings) This is my own review of Ain't Got No Cigarettes, the first Roger Miller book ever published. My review is based on reading the book (twice) and having several discussions with Lyle E Style, the author. He may stop by later to answer questions (as his schedule allows). This one is a must-read, folks. And for you radio personalities who...
  • RONDSTADT BOOED AT FUNDRAISER AFTER DEDICATION TO ANTI-AMERICAN SLOB MICHAEL MOORE

    Laura Ingraham show | DFU
On the Laura Ingraham show this morning, I heard something that may give some hope. Linda Rondstadt, one time girlfriend of Moonbeam Jerry Brown, was one of the singing acts at a fundraiser for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. That was obviously no right wing crowd. Unfortunately for Linda, when she made a dedication to Michael Moore, the crowed began loudly booing her. Laura Ingraham is right --- SHUT UP AND SING. We want entertainment, not anti-American leftist crap.

I was a little surprised when I heard that, less than one week after being booed off the premises in Las Vegas for calling Michael Moore a truth-spreading "American patriot", Linda Rondstadt has repeated the offense. At a Thursday evening concert in Livermoore, California, Rondstadt had almost finished without incident, when she returned to the stage and once again dedicated a cover of "Desperadoes" to Michael Moore to plug his "documentary", Fahrenheit 9/11. Slightly less rowdy than the Aladdin Hotel crowd (who hurled drinks at Rondstadt posters and demanded refunds), upwards of 100 concert-goers pointedly walked out. After my initial...

LAS VEGAS - One of the partners buying the Aladdin hotel-casino said singer Linda Ronstadt (news) would be welcomed back to the property after the performer was kicked out over the weekend by current management for praising filmmaker Michael Moore. Planet Hollywood CEO Robert Earl of Orlando, Fla., said he'd like to take Moore up on the filmmaker's offer to join Ronstadt on Aladdin's stage and sing "America the Beautiful" when Earl's management team takes control of the bankrupt casino, as early as September. "We respect artists' creativity and support their rights to express themselves," Earl said in a statement...
