CommentaryVaccine skeptics, vaccine refusers, vaccine deniers—these anti-vaxxers are scourges whose ignorance and misinformation are responsible for countless COVID-19 deaths, our public health authorities attest. Stamping their message out is so important that those with the biggest megaphones are being outed, threatened, and fired from their academic and medical posts, and wherever else they might be found. So, who are these health heretics whose dangerous rhetoric is questioning prestigious public bodies such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, blue-chip pharma companies such as Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, and the great majority of governments?Dr. Peter...

The Democrats control of the media allows them to misrepresent issues like the "climate change" scam as legitimate issues Republican journalists need to make an extra effort to discover and expose those scams. Weather Channel founder John Coleman calls global warming "the greatest scam in history." Lawrence Solomon published an expose' in the May 30, 2009 Financial Post detailing how the Enron corporation paid scientists and environmental groups to falsely claim increases in carbon dioxide would increase global air temperature. https://ep.probeinternational.org/2009/05/30/enrons-other-secret/ Physicist R.W. Wood disproved this warming theory in 1909. Philosophical magazine , 1909, vol 17, p319-320. Cambridge UL shelfmark...

Remember Enron, the corrupt firm whose failure should have disproved the myth "too big to fail", but didn't? At the time it was the seventh largest corporation. It's bankruptcy was the largest in history until Lehman Brothers failed. Incidentally, Lehman Brothers was also involved in carbon trading. Enron owed part of its early success to emissions trading. Basically emissions trading was established as a way for some companies to profit from pollution while allowing some companies to continue to produce the chemicals that can cause acid rain. Lawrence Solomon, executive director of Energy Probe has reported that Enron played a...

Hi everyone - I know we discussed this several times. Still, I found it hard to stomach reading the details of the story. Not because I am vain; but because I am a biologist, and because it is so utterly sad that a country known for its generous help to those in need, itself refuses expert help; help that could have averted a catastrophe still going on as we speak. Thank you for your attention.

... All told, Connolley created or rewrote 5,428 unique Wikipedia articles. His control over Wikipedia was greater still, however, through the role he obtained at Wikipedia as a website administrator, which allowed him to act with virtual impunity. When Connolley didn’t like the subject of a certain article, he removed it — more than 500 articles of various descriptions disappeared at his hand. When he disapproved of the arguments that others were making, he often had them barred — over 2,000 Wikipedia contributors who ran afoul of him found themselves blocked from making further contributions. Acolytes whose writing conformed to...

...Enron Chairman Kenneth Lay, keen to engineer an encore, saw his opportunity when Bill Clinton and Al Gore were inaugurated as president and vice-president in 1993. To capitalize on Al Gore’s interest in global warming, Enron immediately embarked on a massive lobbying effort to develop a trading system for carbon dioxide, working both the Clinton administration and Congress. Political contributions and Enron-funded analyses flowed freely, all geared to demonstrating a looming global catastrophe if carbon dioxide emissions weren’t curbed. An Enron-funded study that dismissed the notion that calamity could come of global warming, meanwhile, was quietly buried...

'Big Thaw,' a summertime spectacular in National Geographic magazine, provided awesome scenes of climate-change catastrophes. The glaciers are melting. The ice sheets are melting. They're sliding rapidly out to sea. More rapidly than anyone imagined. Look for the ice sheets to collapse. Look for sea levels to rise. Etc. Etc.National Geographic's breathless account, brilliantly illustrated with the stunning photography for which it is famous, won headlines around the world. It has been dramatized and magnified on nightly newscasts and blogs alike, and has become a staple in the popular imagination. But it won't happen, says Prof. Cliff Ollier of the University...

The Deniers: The World-Renowned Scientists Who Stood Up Against Global Warming Hysteria, Political Persecution, and Fraud Author: Lawrence Solomon About the Program Lawrence Solomon talks about prominent scientists who have dissented from the view of global warming championed by Al Gore and other environmentalists. Mr. Solomon spoke at an event hosted by the Competitive Enterprise Institute and the Cooler Heads Coalition at the Dirksen House Office Building. About the Author Lawrence Solomon is a columnist for the National Post (Canada) and is executive director of the Urban Renaissance Institute, a division of Energy Probe Research Foundation. Stephen Schwartz knows as much about the effects of aerosols on climate change as anyone in the world, and he's worried. He believes climate change is so massive an economic issue that we face costs "in the trillions if not quadrillions of dollars." He thinks a Herculean effort and great sacrifice is required to get the world down to zero net increase in carbon dioxide concentrations, an effort he compares to that which the Allies undertook in their all-out war against Nazi Germany and Japan."Recall World War II, where everyone was making a sacrifice: gas rationing, tire rationing, no...

As I'm writing this column for the Financial Post, I am simultaneously editing a page on Wikipedia. I am confident that just about everything I write for my column will be available for you to read. I am equally confident that you will be able to read just about nothing that I write for the page on Wikipedia.

Last week, in my column on Wikipedia’s zealots, I described how the website’s editors patrol the website’s pages to enforce the conventional wisdom on climate change. Anyone skeptical of the United Nations’ take on global warming gets swarmed — Wikipedia’s enforcers neutralize him and his comments or take him out completely. The Wikipedia site in this way has become a paragon of modern propaganda, operating under the illusion of Internet openness and respect for democratic process, while in reality inhabiting a fantasy world in which up is down and words mean whatever you want them to mean.

Climate change by Jupiter Lawrence Solomon Financial Post Saturday, November 10, 2007 The alignment of the planets, and especially that of Jupiter and Saturn, control the climate on Earth. So explained Rhodes Fairbridge of Columbia University, a giant in science over much of the last century whose accomplishments are perhaps unsurpassed for their breadth, depth, and volume. This one man authored or co-authored 100 scientific books and more than 1,000 scientific papers, he edited the Benchmarks in Geology series (more than 90 volumes in print) and was general editor of the Encyclopaedias of the Earth Sciences. He edited eight major...

They call this a consensus? Lawrence Solomon, Financial Post Published: Saturday, June 02, 2007 "Only an insignificant fraction of scientists deny the global warming crisis. The time for debate is over. The science is settled." So said Al Gore ... in 1992. Amazingly, he made his claims despite much evidence of their falsity. A Gallup poll at the time reported that 53% of scientists actively involved in global climate research did not believe global warming had occurred; 30% weren't sure; and only 17% believed global warming had begun. Even a Greenpeace poll showed 47% of climatologists didn't think a runaway...

10 Part series on critically assessing the claim of global warming. Lawrence Solomon through the works of distinguished scientists demonstrates that contrary to the media accepted verdict that the Global Warming science is settled, its not. The skeptics are called by a dirty word "The Deniers" to illicit a negative analogy with Holocaust Deniers. But the skeptics/Deniers quoted by Lawrence Solomon are all distinguished scientists with curriculum vitae to die for. They may be wrong, as any scientist may be wrong, but theirs is an honest science, not politics. The debate is far from over. Lawrence Solomon himself (as far...

In the global warming debate, there are essentially two broad camps. One believes that the science is settled, that global warming is serious and man-made, and that urgent action must be taken to mitigate or prevent a future calamity. The other believes that the science is far from settled, that precious little is known about global warming or its likely effects, and that prudence dictates more research and caution before intervening massively in the economy. The "science is settled" camp, much the larger of the two, includes many eminent scientists with impressive credentials. But just who are the global warming...
