The state of Missouri has executed Marcellus Williams despite concerns that the convicted murderer might have been innocent. Williams died by lethal injection shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday at Missouri state prison in Bonne Terre. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 2001 for the 1998 murder of Felicia Gayle, a social worker and former St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter who was fatally stabbed during a daytime burglary. Republican Missouri Governor Mike Parson, Missouri's Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court all rejected last-minute attempts to halt the execution, ignoring clemency pleas from Williams' lawyers, prosecutors and members of the...

DeSantis was on the latest This Week on ABC and told host Jon Karl that Trump wants a party defined solely by loyalty to him, and not by commitment to principles or “delivering” on them for voters. “Is that what’s going on?” asked Karl. “Because we are now seeing this stampede of elected Republican officials endorsing Donald Trump.” DESANTIS: Well, you’ll have to ask them. I mean, I can tell you this. I mean, I do know elected officials who encouraged me to run and say they’re going to vote for me in a primary, but yet have endorsed Donald...

A former longtime Alabama senator had a chilling final message before he died of COVID-19 last week: “We messed up.” Larry Dixon, 78, contracted the bug during an outdoors hangout “with a couple of guys” two weeks ago — and his worsening condition left him on a ventilator, his close friend and pulmonologist Dr. David Thrasher told NBC News. Dixon’s wife Gaynell Dixon told Thrasher that her husband issued one final plea before his death.

May the Notorious RBG have eternal rest. That being said, FoxNews reported that Ginsburg supposedly told her granddaughter that it was her last wish that her seat not be filled by this President. If so, it really puts the LIE to ROBERTS’ assertion that there are no Democrat Justices and no Republican Justices. MOST Justices who have been appointed by Republican Presidents have ruled by the Constitution.......except for Souter and now Roberts. The ‘Justices’ who have been appointed by Dem pResidents have ALWAYS ruled to the benefit of the DEMS.

Former New York City mayor Ed Koch died Friday morning at the age of 88. He plans to be buried in Manhattan, the three-term mayor said in 2008. His headstone and a memorial bench, placed at Trinity Church Cemetery in 2009, evoke his faith and his admiration of a murdered journalist. Koch explained his plans to the Associated Press: The marker will bear the Star of David and a Hebrew prayer, “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.” It also will be inscribed with the last words of journalist Daniel Pearl before he was murdered by...

The following is a transcription of an audio recording made by a cell phone during Saddam's hanging. It appears to be Saddam comforting himself by singing. We all know he was downright silly for Southern old-timey songs.

After reading one quote from our own Founder's Quotes thread, I thought a few more would prove entertaining: Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (1882-1945) "I have a terrific headache." ....he died of a cerebral hemmorage. Allen, Ethan (1738-1789) "Waiting are they? Waiting are they? Well--let 'em wait." ...after being told that the Angels were waiting for him. Saroyan, William (1908-1981) "Everybody has got to die, but I have always believed an exception would be made in my case. Now what?" .....yeah, I'll talk like that on MY deathbed. Sedgwick, John "Uncle John," General (1813-1864) "They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist--."...

Bell, Alexander Graham (1847-1922) "No." Booth, John Wilkes (1839-1865) "Tell mother, tell mother, I died for my country. . . . useless . . . useless . . ."
