More than two months have passed since 58 country music fans were gunned down in the Las Vegas massacre, and survivors as well as victims' families are still searching for some semblance of closure.

It is the end of an era in Las Vegas as one of the most famed hotels and casinos on the Strip was demolished in the early morning hours of Tuesday. The final tower of the Riviera was reduced to little more than rubble a little over a year after the city's first high-end casino shut its doors in May of last year. Long known as a classic mob joint featured in films such as Oceans 11 and Diamonds are Forever, the Riviera also hosted the residences of famed Vegas performances including Liberace and Dean Martin during its heyday.

Drivers were given a long list of rules Thursday involving MGM Resorts International's game-changing move to charge for parking on the Las Vegas Strip. Sin City's largest hotel-casino operator has said the changes will go into effect beginning on June 6 at some properties, with all of its facilities falling in line by June 13.

If the ghosts of Frank Sinatra and Liberace were still hanging around the Riviera Hotel and Casino on Monday morning, they wouldn't have found a seat at the bar. BOSTON -- A Peabody woman says a cupcake she tried to take on a flight with her sparked a potential security threat this week. Rebecca Hains says she was going through security at the airport in Las Vegas when a TSA agent pulled her aside and said the cupcake frosting was “gel-like” enough to constitute a security risk. She said she was able to pass through Logan International Airport security with two cupcakes, but she was stopped on the way back when she tried to return with one of them.

Hawker Beechcraft posts $42.2 million third-quarter loss BY MOLLY McMILLIN The Wichita Eagle Hawker Beechcraft on Monday reported an operating loss of $42.2 million in the third quarter, an improvement from losses of $81.4 million for the same period a year ago. Sales totaled $518.8 million, down from $594.7 million during the same period last year because of lower aircraft deliveries. LAS VEGAS - A hearing officer says the Wynn Las Vegas casino-resort violated federal labor law when it fired a union leader last year. The administrative law judge for the National Labor Relations Board said in a ruling filed this week that Wynn targeted dealer Ronda Larson because she was notably active in the Transportation Workers Union. Larson was a longtime casino employee when she was fired in September 2009 after she helped organize for the union. Wynn managers say Larson was terminated because she was rude and insubordinate.

Police and animal control officials tracked the animal to a back yard after it eluded capture early in the day and then reappeared Wednesday afternoon.
