Conservative pundits Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will soon take over Rush Limbaugh’s radio timeslot, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. “The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor,” the Journal reported. “We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices – those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” president of iHeart Media’s Premiere Networks Julie Talbott said, according to the Journal. Travis is the founder of conservative sports website Outkick,...

Newsmax TV has scored a historic, first-ever ratings victory over Fox News Channel, according to a CNN Business report. The notable win came this week in the key 25- to 54-year-old demographic prized by advertisers, when the “Greg Kelly Reports” show topped Fox’s “The Story with Martha MacCallum.” Kelly’s show averaged 229,000 viewers compared to MacCallum’s which averaged 203,000. “Before the election, Newsmax was not regarded as a formidable competitor to Fox; it was mostly dismissed as one of a handful of wannabe challengers,” the CNN writeup states. “But President Trump’s loss on November 3 changed the cable TV calculus.”...

Such is the era we live in that we are now being treated to the absurd spectacle of supposed journalists coming out strongly in favor of censorship. One such journalist is Politico's White House reporter Tina Nguyen, who on Sunday castigated the Twitter alternative, Parler, for their lack of censorship.Nguyen's outrage at Parler for daring to permit free speech appeared in "On Parler, MAGA’s post-election world view blossoms with no pushback."

Most CTH readers are likely aware of the term “deplatforming.” Unfortunately the big tech control mechanism to shut down speech & assembly has now arrived on our doorstep. Each spring on Lake Michigan, if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see shipwrecks due to the incredibly clear springtime waters. Every winter, ice forms on the Great Lakes. That ice is often thick enough that the people who live on their shores can not only go ice fishing, but even ride snow mobiles across their surfaces. At the coming of spring, the ice melts, leaving the waters of some of the lakes especially clear for a while until warmer weather creates algae blooms and other events that reduce the water’s clarity. In the early spring, the waters of Lake...

Arizona lawmakers want to erect a fence along the border with Mexico - whether the federal government thinks it's necessary or not. They've got a plan that could get a project started using online donations and prison labour. If they get enough money, all they would have to do is get cooperation from landowners and construction could begin as soon as this year. Governor Jan Brewer recently signed a bill that sets the state on a course to building a permanent barrier along its borders, and a website is being launched to raise money for the work.

Osama bin Laden was a symbol of the Islamic jihad. After 9/11, surveys by al-Jazeera and other sources indicated that between 10% and 50% of Muslims regarded him as a hero. That is somewhere between 150 million and 750 million people. Symbols are important, and the death of the symbol of Islamic jihad is important. But the jihad will go on. The fact that bin Laden was killed in a mansion near Islamabad (fitting name) is but one mark of the support he had in the Muslim world. But by the time our forces reached him, ten years after 9/11,...
