A big US furniture company this week fired all of its 2,700 employees while they were sleeping, telling them in texts and emails not to come to work the next day, according to reports. The mass firing on Tuesday by United Furniture Industries, which makes budget-friendly sofas and recliners for Simmons Upholstery, left thousands of employees including truck drivers and factory workers in North Carolina, Mississippi and California unemployed just two days before Thanksgiving.

An Idaho teacher who suggested that Boise’s mayor should “get laid” by Black Lives Matter members is now out of a job, district officials said. Rita Soltesz, who formerly taught music at the Idaho Fine Arts Academy and Eagle Middle School, got axed by the West Ada School district following the sexually and racially charged comment about Mayor Lauren McLean, a spokesman told the Idaho Statesman. More charges have been laid in connection with an antifa-related protest at Mohawk College in September. Hamilton police are still looking to identify some additional suspects.  Alaa Al Soufi, 27, was the latest to be arrested on Nov. 19 and has four charges pending including assault, theft under $5000, intimidation, and disguise with intent.   The charges stem from an earlier altercation that took place during a Dave Rubin and Maxime Bernier fundraiser for the People’s Party.
