Ultimately, perhaps we will all hunker down in our own ideological space, hoping to find respite from the mob, whether it be the metaphorical cancel culture, the CNN mob, or the real-life mobs running loose in our cities. Why confront mindlessness when it’s safer & less painful to avoid it? But for now, let’s suppose there are some thoughtful individuals left. A CNN opinion maker recently accused me of making wildly inaccurate comments about a coronavirus vaccine. My supposed sin was saying the left wing mob would likely forcibly vaccinate even individuals who already have immunity like myself. CNN argues...

Perhaps you’re perusing the produce aisle at your favorite grocery store wearing a mask when suddenly you bump into a maskless shopper. Or maybe while visiting Target, another shopper approaches you with a mask slung below their nose. The coronavirus pandemic has created enough upheaval. Now, we’re all dealing with the social etiquette associated with wearing masks and social distancing. In Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Wolf and health secretary Dr. Rachel Levine ordered all residents to wear masks when out in public to help control the spread of COVID-19. They have likened masks to things like wearing shirts and shoes inside...

With COVID-19 infections surging, Pennsylvania’s health secretary on Monday warned that making the right “choice” on face masks and social distancing is critical to avoiding a repeat of the situation that prompted major restrictions during spring. “If you feel uncomfortable with how close people are at, for instance, a restaurant where you might be dining, then make the choice to leave,” Dr. Rachel Levine said. “If you are in a store where people are not following the mandatory mask order, make the choice to leave. And if you are getting together with people who might be talking that they are...

Arlo Kinsey was working behind the carryout counter at RJ’s Bob-Be-Que Shack in Mission last week when a middle-aged man dressed in a red Make America Great Again hat — and no mask — walked through the door. “I asked him if he could wear a mask, since it’s what Gov. Kelly told us to do,” said Kinsey, 18, who was working shifts at the barbecue joint this summer before heading off to college. He had dealt with a handful of customers who refused to wear masks inside the restaurant despite the statewide mandate — but none like this, he...

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cuyahoga County’s enforcement of Gov. Mike DeWine’s mask order will largely rely upon complaints filed by the public, rather than proactive policing, County Executive Armond Budish announced Friday. Individuals who see others failing to abide by the mask requirement should call in complaints to the county’s new hotline at 216-698-5050, or file complaints online at cuyahogacounty.us/maskexperience. County workers will then contact the subject of the complaints — either individuals or businesses — to let them know a complaint has been filed, Budish said. Complaints also will be forwarded to the Board of Health, and the relevant city...
