What happened to "Michael Anderson" the guy who posted on Facebook that his cousin, who was a juror in the trial presided over by Judge Juan Merchan, told him that the jury had already found President Trump guilty of clerical bookkeeping entries to cover up an underlying crime that was never defined? There was supposed to have been an investigation into whether Michael Anderson was a hoaxster. If it had been found out that he made a fake post then that news would have been already BLASTED out all over the news media. However, so far we have heard... nothing.I don't...

Dear Counsel: Today, the Court became aware of a comment that was posted on the Unified Court System's public Facebook page and which I now bring to your attention. In the comment, the user, "Michael Anderson," states: "My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted...Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!!" The comment, now labeled as one week old, responded to a routine UCS notice, posted on May 29, 2024, regarding oral arguments in the Fourth Department of the Appellate Division unrelated to this proceeding.

A stray comment was posted to Facebook only a day before a jury convicted Donald Trump in a New York court last week in which the poster said his cousin was a juror on the Trump case and that a conviction was imminent. He thanked the court for their service.

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow said the jury should be thanked and protected during her network’s coverage of former President Donald Trump being found guilty on all counts in a unanimous decision by a Manhattan jury in his business record trial. Maddow said, “Listen, this is unanimous on all counts. This is a definitive and this is an irreversible verdict. He can appeal. I’m sure he will appeal. But this is everything that the prosecution asked for, from a jury that by all counts took this thing very, very seriously. We counted the deliberation hours down here. The test here for...

UPDATE 1:44 p.m. ET: The jury has now been deliberating for more than 9 hours with no verdict.

If the five-woman, seven-man jury doesn't find Donald Trump guilty of the alleged bookkeeping mistakes, it will be a miracle. This is because the 55-page final jury instructions that attorneys saw only moments before the judge read them in court on Wednesday is a "directed verdict" to Trump's guilt. That's it. That's why an uncharacteristically somber Trump announced that even "Mother Teresa couldn't beat these charges." See his comments below. The "fix is in," as one notable former U.S. attorney decreed. "This is most corrupt judicial proceeding in the history of the United States," former District of Columbia U.S. Attorney...

15 min(s) ago President Donald Trump was able to get a TV sent to his courthouse waiting room, a campaign source told Fox News Digital. Trump is passing the time watching TV as the jury continues deliberating for the second day, something he wasn't able to do on the first day of deliberation.

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday the “world is watching” his criminal trial in Manhattan and might decide not to do business in New York State because of its “rigged” judicial system. Trump made the comments before he walked into his courtroom on the second day of jury deliberations. “It’s all rigged. The whole thing, the whole system is rigged,” Trump told reporters. “It’s a disgrace.”

The more time we have to look through Judge Juan Merchan's byzantine jury instructions in Donald Trump's "hush money" trial in Manhattan, the worse they look. The vague nature of the instructions has even led to disputes among legal analysts who have struggled to make sense of the case from the beginning. At Townhall, our colleague Matt Vespa has a good rundown of one of the most glaring problems with the instructions. The judge gave the jurors the unheard-of option of picking any one of three crimes that were "concealed" by the entry of "false business records" and said that...

Premiered 2 hours ago President Trump calls in with his first comments after the first day of jury deliberation in NY. He explains that there has never been a judge who has been so conflicted. The prosecution has no case, there is no crime. He talks about Israel, Iran, and Biden’s failed economy.

JUST IN: NBC reports that Trump's defense team is "newly animated" and have "cracked" a smile while the District Attorney's team looks "tense and apprehensive" in New York. The moment came as the jury submitted a second note to Judge Merchan, asking him to give the instructions again."The District Attorney’s team looks tense and apprehensive. Todd Blanche, on Trump’s defense team, just cracked a tight smile. Trump, Blanche and Emil Bove, another one of Trump's attorneys, are whispering amongst themselves and look newly animated," NBC reported.Jurors were then dismissed for the day after a few hours of deliberations."You must not...

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley has been following the trial of Donald Trump in Manhattan closely. Yesterday Turley pretty much considered the prosecution's closing arguments to be a dumpster fire and also has been far from impressed by Judge Juan Merchan's handling of the trial: ...The fraud instruction alone is so generalized that it would seem to encompass any claim that the defendant sought to influence the election through his actions. Merchan has done little to tailor standard instructions for this novel and frankly troubling case...— Jonathan Turley (@JonathanTurley) May 28, 2024This morning Judge Merchan is delivering instructions...

Closing arguments in the trial of former President Donald Trump in New York City, where he is charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, have concluded and Judge Juan Merchan has given the jury their instructions. The instructions were given verbally and jurors won't receive printed copies, although they can ask questions. According to legal experts, Merchan's standards for a conviction are abnormal and do not require jurors to reach a unanimous decision on the charges. Further, jurors don't have to determine what crime was committed. "Judge Merchan has ruled that the jury does not have to agree...

Alina Habba, an attorney for former President Trump, suggested the jury in the hush-money trial should have been sequestered over Memorial Day weekend to prevent outside influence ahead of this week’s closing arguments. “They should have been sequestered, because, in my opinion, these jurors are handling something that is completely unprecedented and unwarranted in America,” Habba said Sunday on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.” “And for them to be able to be out and about on a holiday weekend with friends and families who have opinions, who are watching the news, TVs in the background at the pool party, I...

The jury selection process for former President Donald Trump's "hush money" trial in New York City has not been going quickly nor smoothly — and things took another turn Thursday morning. After struggling to find jurors in the pool who said they could consider the case fairly and impartially, at least one individual who had been impaneled to the jury has now been excused by the judge. A female juror, "Juror #2," who works as an oncology nurse and had biographical details — including her occupation and other information from her responses to the juror questionnaire and its 42 multi-part...

A juror who was excused from serving on the Manhattan trial of former President Donald Trump provided details about the questions potential jurors were asked.Kara McGee told media outlets outside the courtroom on Tuesday that she was dismissed but said she believes she could be impartial, adding still that it would be “very difficult for anyone really in this country to not come to this without prior opinions.”“We all have prior opinions on the defendant, unless you’ve been living in a cardbox,” she said, adding that she was excused because of her job in the cybersecurity sector.Regarding her personal feelings...

Four men and three women have so far been selected to hear the trial of former President Donald Trump for bookkeeping misdemeanors that have been transmogrified into an election year spectacle meant to help Joe Biden win the 2024 election. The judge demands that the other eleven jurors are to be selected and seated by the end of the week to complete a panel of 12 jurors and six alternates. The court is off on Wednesday and will resume Thursday. Judge Juan Merchan, who donated to Joe Biden and whose daughter works for a political company using this trial as...
