Hello all, I am a junior high SS/Religion teacher in one of the Cincinnati Catholic Schools. We are using an updated textbook from Prentice Hall (Pearson). To be blunt, I hate this textbook! It's all over the place on our American historical roots as well as very biased against American ingenuity and foresight. My principal and parish priest are very open to using resources that have not 'revised' the world's history. Can anyone suggest a textbook company that is not revising history? The textbook we use now is called "America, History of our Nation."

Some parents and teachers have accepted teacher Kerri McCaffrey's decision to embrace his feminine identity and undergo gender reassignment surgery. Ex-DeSoto teacher sentenced to prison DALLAS (AP) — A former De Soto junior high school teach er has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student. The teachers - waving signs that read "Teachers Have Rights," "Teachers Have A Voice" and "No More Lane" - had said they were unhappy with Lane, vowing not to return to work until he was removed.</p>

<p>Picture the mating rites of middle-schoolers. Perhaps you imagine hand-holding and first kisses, girls trying out eye shadow, boys sneaking a peek at vulgar men's magazines.</p> <p>The list goes on. Middle schools that used to do without dress codes now must send home exhaustive inventories of forbidden garments, from tube tops to too-low hip-huggers. Schools that used to handle crude language on a case-by-case basis now must have ''no-profanity'' policies. And sexual-harassment training is a normal part of middle-school curriculum.</p>
