Josie Carey, who as host of WQED's "Children's Corner" touched the lives of generations of children, died Friday, May 28, 2004, from complications after a fall at her Allegheny County home. Ms. Carey, 73, of Kennedy Township, who was associated with the late Fred Rogers for seven years, was considered WQED's "first star," station President George Miles said.
