White House chief of staff Ron Klain took a shot at former President Trump on Sunday, comparing him to Richard Nixon, who resigned from the presidency, to make the point that President Biden does not believe any president should call for prosecutions from the Oval Office.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Sunday made made it known that she agreed with a fellow GOP congress member who called former President Trump a "would-be tyrant." Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.) on Saturday condemned Trump following a rally in South Carolina, calling him a "disaster" and a "would-be tyrant." Rice accused Trump of being "consumed by spite."

Roughly 40 percent of Republicans in a new survey said they approve of the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. According to the Politico-Morning Consult poll released on Sunday, 40 percent of Republicans said they either strongly support or somewhat support the Jan. 6 select committee. Another 44 percent said they oppose the committee to some degree while the remaining 16 percent said they had no opinion on it.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) on Sunday said Democrats must "quit lying" about the cost of the Build Back Better Act and called for the House to revote on the massive social spending package. U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth this week warned members of the National Guard that they may be barred from "continued service" if they refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19. “I have determined that all soldiers who refuse the mandatory vaccination order will be flagged,” Wormuth wrote in a memo, according to The New York Times. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) ordered an audit of voter signatures on absentee ballots in Cobb County on Monday, a move that will have no effect on the outcome of the presidential election in Georgia. According to Raffensperger, allegations that the signature-matching process in Cobb County had not been done properly were received by his office.
