Trans Buddy PGH is a community-led peer-support organization with the goal of increasing access to and improving quality of healthcare for transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive people. Our trained volunteers provide emotional support and guidance to trans and non-binary patients during healthcare visits and work with these patients to help them make their own informed decisions.

The Navy has dismissed charges against Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher’s platoon leader and ordered a review of its justice system. Lt. Jacob Portier was charged with covering up war crimes in connection with the Gallagher prosecution and faced trial in September. “Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson today dismissed all charges in the case of Lt. Jacob Portier,” a Navy statement said Thursday, according to the San Diego News-Tribune. “Richardson took this action in the best interest of justice and the Navy.” Richardson also ordered a review of the Navy’s Judge Advocate General Corps, which prosecuted Gallagher and Portier....

Suspecting overseas counterfeiters would target fans eager for NHL Winter Classic memorabilia, three federal agencies conducted a joint operation they say intercepted 792 items of fake sportswear. If the items were legitimate, they would be worth about $137,000, said Joseph Klaus, Customs and Border Protection port director for Pittsburgh. The fake sports memorabilia is a small part of the millions of dollars worth of counterfeit items that agents believe come into the Pittsburgh area annually, he said. Frank Wuterich for his role in the slaying of 24 civilians in the Iraqi city of Haditha in 2005.
