PARLOCK UPDATE By Michelle Malkin · September 21, 2004 04:01 PM For those still interested: Just received a call from the IUPAT, which has now identified the union member who grabbed the Bush/Cheney sign from Phil Parlock's daughter and threw the pieces at the family as they left the event. "We are taking steps to deal with the individual," the union told me. Meanwhile, President Bush sent the little girl a new sign that read: "Dear Sophia, Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore up your sign. So I am sending you a new sign and a...

.Inside PoliticsBy Greg Pierce'Ridiculous' rumors When 3-year-old Sophia Parlock's crying face became nationally famous Thursday, some Democrats charged that it was part of a hoax. Photographs of a West Virginia campaign rally showed a man holding pieces of the crying girl's Bush-Cheney sign, after her father said Democrats had torn the sign apart. The man was wearing a T-shirt identifying himself as a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT). But on DemocraticUnderground.com and other Internet sites, some Democrats said that the man in the photo was actually the girl's older brother. "Ridiculous," Sophia's father, Phil...

The democrat activists who are trying to lie, spin, and make accusations on the Sign Ripping incident in WV, can't even get the story straight on which son in the family picture is supposed to be the "staged Union Thug." The Democrat Activist on Truthout claims that it is the Son in the Gray Shirt: Click Here Take a long look at the young man in the gray shirt, and then take another look at the alleged union guy who tore up the sign. Am I the only one who sees a striking resemblance? Democraticunderground claims that it is the...

Barboursville resident Phil Parlock and his children became national celebrities in the world of Internet blogging and conservative talk radio on Friday. A Bush-Cheney campaign sign yanked from the hands of 3-year-old Sophia Parlock and ripped into pieces was the focus of all the attention. The incident occurred Thursday evening at Tri-State Airport during Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards’ campaign stop. Republican supporters all over the Internet on Friday were saying Parlock was merely a Republican exercising his First Amendment rights, set upon by Democratic thugs.

LOOK FOR THE UNION ***HOLE Here's the deal with this photo. The union goon on the left is basking in the glory of tearing up the Bush/Cheney sign of the little girl now crying on her poppa's shoulders. After becoming one of Yahoo's most blogified photos of the day yesterday, the men in pajamas got a rare concession from a union official yesterday: Statement from the General President Regarding the Events in Huntington, WV The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades believes in the fundamental right for civil discourse, freedom of speech and activism to support our candidates and...

I JUST got this e-mail alert from www.goodnewsamerica.us 'If the picture of little 3-year-old Sophia Parlock crying after some Kerry-Edwards Union Thugs ripped up her Bush-Cheney poster and gave her back the pieces got to you, well, you weren't the only one. Well, there's a happy ending. After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad's shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the Prez and his dog. "Dear Sophia" Bush penned, "Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore...

Just got off the phone with Phil Parlock, who is amused by desperate liberal rumor-mongering that the man wearing an IUPAT t-shirt and holding a piece of his little girl's Bush/Cheney sign is his own son. "That's ridiculous. This is a small town," Parlock told me from his home in Huntington, W. Virginia. "Everyone would recognize him." Parlock and his daughter were surrounded by a group of about five or six nasty pro-Kerry folks, two or three of whom wore IUPAT shirts. He received a voice mail from the president of the IUPAT, whose apology (as noted below) is here....

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades believes in the fundamental right for civil discourse, freedom of speech and activism to support our candidates and issues. What happened in Huntington, West Virginia yesterday is an affront to everything we, as a union, pride ourselves to represent. We extend our apologies to the Parlock family, especially Sophia, for the distress one of our overzealous members caused them. I have personally taken steps to address this issue internally, and will take immediate disciplinary action to the fullest extent allowed under U.S. Department of Labor regulations and the constitution of the International...

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades has a great program, called The Patch Foundation: The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades established the PATCH (Painters and Allied Trades for Children's Hope) Foundation to improve the lives of children in need and to ensure that their futures are bright and productive.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- John Kerry's big momentum is carrying him into what's expected to be a strong showing this weekend. But so far it hasn't generated a new wave of support from Capitol Hill, or the backing of two unions that could really help him in the days ahead.
