TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The district attorney’s office is now handling the case involving the death of a state transportation worker in Itawamba County. An 18-wheeler struck and killed Jeff Boren on Sept. 11 on Interstate 22. A picture of Jeff Boren on the Facebook page of Ozark Baptist Church on September 12, 2019 Boren worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation as a construction manager. According to a district engineer, Boren was on the shoulder of the interstate picking up a road sign when the collision happened.

A small town Mississippi High School has decided to cancel its school prom after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) demanded the school permit a female student to wear a tux to the prom and attend with her lesbian partner.Now the ACLU is suing the school, asking the courts to force the Itawamba County School District to hold the prom and permit 18-year-old Constance McMillen to attend with her lesbian partner and to cross-dress.
