After a rousing night of rallying Republicans at their National Convention, the First Couple hit the campaign trail once again with stops in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. During the rally in Wisconsin, President Bush informed the crowd of the impeding bypass surgery for former President Clinton, and wished him well. The President campaigned in Albuquerque, NM, and Phoenix, AZ joined by Senator McCain. President and Mrs. Bush emerged from their Crawford, Texas ranch today (looking rested and ready to go) via Air Force One from Waco to Washington, and will begin a Midwest campaign blitz Friday, including visits to Ohio, Missouri and Michigan in just one day. This morning in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, President Bush signed the Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act, which stiffens penalties for identity theft, including imposing a mandatory 5 year prison sentence for anyone using ID theft in a terrorist related crime. Later, in the Oval Office, he met with Mongolian President, Natsagiyn Bagabandi to discuss regional security and diplomatic issues.
