House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) claimed Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that President Donald Trump was “intentionally unleashing extremism” to try to disorient everyday Americans. Host Jake Tapper said, “The government is hurtling towards a possible federal government shutdown now less than three weeks away.” He asked, “What is the strategy? Are House Democrats going to vote to keep the government open, or are you just going to let the Republicans be in charge of all of it?”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, admitted in a new interview that he’s been intentionally moving the goal posts on his recommendations regarding herd immunity based on what he thinks the American people are ready to hear. Herd immunity, or the percentage of a population that acquires resistance to the coronavirus through infection or vaccination, has been widely estimated at roughly 60 to 70 percent for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

A North Carolina woman says she is happier than ever after fulfilling her lifelong wish of becoming blind. Shuping said that her fascination with blindness began when she was about 6-years old. “By the time I was six I remember that thinking about being blind made me feel comfortable,” she told Barcroft TV. HOUSTON—One man may have accidentally caused his own death after he intentionally crashed his vehicle on the Highway 59 North feeder road early Tuesday, according to police. Police found the man's body after responding to a fatal accident call on the 59/Eastex Freeway at Cavalcade around 2 a.m. Police said the witness on the scene was a friend who was traveling behind the victim's big rig.
