'Nothing has been done or will be done to disabuse them of their sentiment' News from a Congressional Research Service report that 50 “homegrown violent jihadists” are scheduled to be released in the United States between last January and the end of 2026 raises the obvious question of whether Americans have something to fear. Among the incarcerated, according to the Bureau of Prisons, are 380 linked to international terrorism and 83 tied to domestic terrorism. Unfortunately, more attention has been paid to incarcerating the jihadists than to what happens when they complete their sentences, the Associated Press noted in a...

It will the third placing of unclaimed remains, some whom were homeless or indigent veterans, headed by the Missing In America Project. Bob Day, the Arizona M.I.A.P. state coordinator said, “Similar to no man left behind in battle, we believe no veteran should be forgotten and that each deserves to be laid to rest with honor to acknowledge his or her contributions to our freedom.” The Friday event will begin in Tucson where the cremains...
  • Store operator in trouble over jihad comments

Is a Northwest Knoxville convenience store operator a jihad jokester or a terrorist-in-waiting? That was the question U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Guyton faced Monday as federal prosecutors pushed for the detention pending trial of Hazam Ali Ahmed... However, testimony at Monday's hearing shows Ahmed has been on the radar screen of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force since at least January 2006. FBI Agent Mark D. Murphy testified that an informant clandestinely recorded chats with Ahmed in early 2006 during which Ahmed allegedly tried to recruit the informant into the terrorist network al-Qaeda... ...Ahmed told the informant, with whom he...
  • Edwards says ending poverty biggest issue facing country - (where was he on 9/11?)

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Ending poverty is perhaps the single largest issue facing the nation, former Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards said Wednesday. "We must end poverty in America because the content of our country's character is at stake," Edwards said at a forum sponsored by Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Thirty-six million Americans live in poverty, Edwards said, and the private sector as well as the government has a responsibility to address it. He said it was wrong that large corporations paid their CEOs millions of dollars while paying thousands of workers $7 per hour. Edwards said...
  • WHAT A MUSLIM REALLY WANTS - (Don Feder's Cold Steel Caucus latest report)

Is Islam a religion of peace? Is there an Easter Bunny? Can pigs fly? These are rhetorical questions. Ordinarily, one wouldn’t expect political correctness to rear its inclusive head at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) -- the largest conservative gathering of the year. At this year’s CPAC, which concluded on February 19, I was on a panel titled, PROTECTING THE HOMELAND AGAINST ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. The other panelists were Rich Miniter (author of “Losing Bin Laden’) and Phil Giraldi, an ex-spook -- excuse me, “former CIA counterterrorism specialist” -- who writes for Pat Buchanan’s publication. I hadn’t...
  • Another "Moderate" Muslim Group - (Not good news. How much is enough?)

Muqtedar Khan of the Brookings Institution has announced, in a recent article in the Daily Times of Lahore, the coming into existence on Dec. 13, 2004, of yet another organization of American Muslims claiming to be moderates. It does not lack for ambitions: “Now with the constitution of the American Muslim Group for Policy Planning, Moderate Muslims in America have a name and an address.” Unfortunately, in its initial form, the AMGPP does not at all appear to be moderate. Rather, it resembles the Progressive Muslim Union (which opened its virtual doors a month earlier, and which I have analyzed...

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 - Tickets to all official inaugural events, including an "elegant" candlelight dinner with a special appearance by President Bush: $100,000. Tickets to all official inaugural events, two additional tickets to an "exclusive" lunch with Mr. Bush and Vice President Cheney, plus an all-access pass to any inaugural ball: $250,000. Telling your friends, "As I explained to the president just the other day... .": priceless. Mr. Bush's inaugural committee, seeking to raise more than $40 million, a record, sent out hundreds of solicitations to the president's biggest campaign contributors this week offering packages of party benefits and access...

  • Anyone else like the movie "In America"?

My husband & I saw "in America" a few days ago. We both loved it especially the natural acting ability of the two little sisters who play the daughters in the film. As the Irish immigrant mother, Samantha Morton deserves an Oscar for Best Actress. I wish they could also give the sisters, Sarah & Emma Bolger Oscars for their outstanding performances. Director Jim Sheridan's own experiences in 1980s NYC apparently inspired many scenes in the film. When the film ended we walked out feeling so refreshed & uplifted by the life-affirming message of this film. Anyone else see it?

To My Fellow Freepers-- This is in regards to a video Documentary that I ordered a while back and just got yesterday. I have written Congress about this tape, regarding the terrorists that are definately among us. It is scary to think that in America, these Islamic Fundamentalists can congregate and call for the blood of all Jews and christians. The evidence is all caught on tape for the world to see and nothing is done, yet our Federal government found The Branch Davidians at Waco to be a threat to America so they, adults and children, were obliterated by...
