The White House on Thursday said it is confident that an investigation into the discovery of classified documents will find that President Biden accidentally misplaced them. “We are confident that a thorough review will show that these documents were inadvertently misplaced, and the President and his lawyers acted promptly upon discovery of this mistake,” Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president, said in a statement. Sauber added that the White House has “cooperated closely with the Justice Department throughout its review” and “will continue that cooperation with the Special Counsel.” The statement comes after Attorney General Merrick Garland announced earlier...

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday defended his record on civil rights and race relations, blasting criticism sparked by voting remarks he made earlier this week, where he said he made an "inadvertent omission." McConnell immediately raised the issue as he started a press conference in Kentucky, saying that he wanted to "take an opportunity at the outset here to address the outrageous characterization of my history and record on voting rights and race relations."

With healthcare costs continually on the rise — a situation compounded by ObamaCare’s new taxes and regulations — employers are looking for every means possible to keep those costs down. The healthcare law requires them to offer coverage to all full-time employees and their dependent children aged 25 and younger. The one person whose coverage it does not mandate, however, is the employee’s spouse; spousal coverage, therefore, is increasingly on employers’ chopping blocks. According to MarketWatch, since the passage of ObamaCare, companies have instituted various measures designed to discourage, if not outright exclude, individuals from obtaining health coverage via their...
  • Banned In Boston (Good Editorial re Berger, not Coulter)

Banned In Boston Investor's Business Daily National Security: Why has Sandy Berger fallen out of the news cycle? Oh, that's right: He didn't give some hapless detainee a wedgie at Abu Ghraib in Baghdad. Blaming Berger's absence on the flood of news coming from the Democratic National Convention would be too easy. Fact is, there's no better time for the media to continue looking into the former national security adviser's alleged filching of classified documents from the National Archives. Berger, who explains himself as the "inadvertent" lifter of sensitive government material, has several direct links to the party -- and...

Would be president John Kerry seems to have a few national security ethics problems before he even gets to the nominating convention. Or perhaps we can illustrate better with a question: Besides being rabid liberals, what do Joseph C. Wilson IV, Jamie Gorelick, Richard Ben-Veniste, Richard Clarke, and Sandy Berger all have in common? Sure, they all worked for the Clinton fiasco and all are egotistical and brash; but that's not the point. Now they are all helping the Kerry campaign in one way or another -- often behind the scenes. And, as is often the case with the Clinton...
