Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday defended his record on civil rights and race relations, blasting criticism sparked by voting remarks he made earlier this week, where he said he made an "inadvertent omission."
McConnell immediately raised the issue as he started a press conference in Kentucky, saying that he wanted to "take an opportunity at the outset here to address the outrageous characterization of my history and record on voting rights and race relations."

Ok. Whatever. He is stuck on defense.
Why do Republicans elect such mealy mouthed people as leaders in the House and Senate? To say nothing about their being snakes.
The guy is not all that sharp these days. February 20th, he
will turn 80 years old.
I’m not inclined to dump on someone just because of age, but
Mitch hasn’t been up to the job for some time.
I do not support him being the Majority leader of the Senate
going on until he’s 86. Forget it. He’s not fit even now.
The Republicans are always seem to be on the defensive. Why? Because they are always one or two steps behind the Demoncrats in most everything. They are so afraid of losing an election that they act like the unwanted stepchild and bow to politically correct.
Anybody that hasn’t heard about this story about McTurtle.
Here’s what happened.
McConnell was asked about the democrat federal attempt at taking over elections, misnamed the voter rights bill.
He responded by saying:
“Well the concern is misplaced, because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans.”(statistics show this is true about black voter percentages)
McConnell after realizing his mistake sent a staffer out to clarify his poor choice of words. He meant to say “other” Americans.
This hasn’t gotten much traction on Free Republic, but is all over the left wing media.
Huh.
Intending that, of a sudden, Republicans aren’t bashing The Hill.
So...the enemy of my enemy is my friend?
At least today...
Yes, I heard about that mistake, and yes, some websites are going nuts over it. They are reacting with ‘shock’ all the while knowing it was simply a mistake.
Some black people are starting to send Mitch a Tik Tok selfie of themselves with the caption: “I Am An American!”
Anything so they can play the victim.
Asian people were using that same slogan last year, when many were being assaulted by black people, who blamed them for COVID.
“Anything so they can play the victim.”
They can’t help themselves, its what race card hustlers do, its in their DNA.
I’m a McConnell critic, who isn’t “hanging him out to dry” on this non issue.
Mitch, this is not about you. You are an important player, but you are not the Standard Bearer of the GOP.That distinction still belongs to Donald Trump and you have to know that already.
I don’t get it, don’t these people always insist you are not black if you vote American?
Good grief, the schizophrenic gaslighting.
McCon-aisle is an idiot, so much into the liberal mantra of black self alienation he is doing Biden style Freudian slips... Except Biden is never blasted for it
This is what you get for trying to talk like a racist liberal as a republican, you get hit both sides. A lib would never have been attacked for a remark like this but a republican is, so why do these Rino’s keep insisting on talking like libs?
As a Brit said, if the Anglicans are going to allow Muslim prayers at their church, then why wouldn’t people go to the mosque instead ...
You ain’t black if you don’t vote for me? Can’t go into a 7-11 without an Indian accent?
Like when Biden said poor kids were just as smart as white kids
But Joe Sniffums’ Can go out and say if his Fraud act isn’t passed, 2022 isn’t legitimate, and as usual, we don’t get a peep from the Enemedia
