  • Melissa Harris-Perry Pronounces Marine Corps Motto Semper 'Fee'

Call it Melissa Harris-Perry's "corpse-man" moment . . . In a segment on the role of the US military during her MSNBC show this morning, Harris-Perry, quoting the Marine Corps motto, pronounced it Semper "Fee." Marines of course pronounce it "fye." Perry surely meant no disrespect. But it is a mark of how detached she and so much of the liberal media is from military culture that she could make such a mistake. View the video here.
  • Confirmed: MSNBC pretty darned ignorant about Christianity and Scripture

The best part of this jaw-dropping display of ignorance from MSNBC’s Joy Reid on Christianity? It comes in a segment called — wait for it — “Pretenders”! Reid argues that Sarah Palin, whose latest book celebrates Christmas, was a hypocrite and a bad Christian because … she put up a Christmas tree! Why, the noted Biblical scholar Reid smirked, that’s a violation of Scripture:(VIDEO-AT-LINK)JOY REID, SUBSTITUTE HOST: In “Pretenders” tonight, a merry Palin Christmas. Sarah Palin dropped by Fox & Friends to promote her manifesto on Christmas purity. She brought a treat better than Christmas cookies – family photos. (BEGIN...
  • Brian Kilmeade just blamed the Te Party candidate for Cuccinelli's loss.(Vanity)

Now I know why I take Fox News in small doses. I was watching Fox & Friends this morning and caught Brian Kilmeade blaming the Tea Party candidate for Cuccinelli's loss. Hello! Cuccinelli was backed by the Tea Party! He was most likely referring to the fake Libertarian candidate backed by an Obama bundler. Blaming the so called "Tea Party" candidate for the results of the VA race is flat out lying! No more Fox News for me! Not even small doses!

Yes, we must ban those “AR15 shotguns.” I heard about this from a few folks on Twitter tonight. h/t Sharky *Edited to add: We all know that the same network forgot Ft. Hood, whose contributor Charles Blow once used “assault handgun” in a debate with yours truly on 2A, and whose 9 pm eastern host thinks AR stands for “assault rifle” wasn’t talking about the MKA 1919. Just because the sheer style is similar, the platform is not. **I’m told by a handful of folks that there exists audio of this being said. ***Twitter reminds me how their 9pm...
  • CNN Anchor Can't Remember the Last Shooting at 'U.S. Military Facility'

    09/16/2013 10:48:23 AM PDT · by chessplayer · 54 replies
During CNN's live coverage of Monday's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, anchor Carol Costello asked when the last time was that a gunman wreaked "havoc at a U.S. military facility." In 2009, a jihadist killed 13 in a mass-shooting at Fort Hood in Texas. "I used to work in Washington, live in Washington. This seems so unusual to me that a gunman could create this kind of havoc at a U.S. military facility," Costello stated. "Have you ever heard of it happening before, Brian?" she asked correspondent Brian Todd, reporting live from the vicinity of the shooting.

  • New York Times Reports Kermit Gosnell Guilty of Killing “Fetuses”

Someone get the staff of the New York Times down to NYU for a Biology 101 class. The Gray Lady reported today that abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of killing “fetuses.” Never mind that a “fetus” is an unborn child in the womb, not a baby who was killed after purposefully being birthed in an abortion process that is essentially infanticide. Unlike what the Times reported, a jury of 12 people, who clearly paid attention in seventh grade Life Science class, convicted him of three counts of first-degree murder. But, as the Washington Free Beacon first noted, the...
  • HARPER: CNN’s coverage of Pope Francis I laden with egregious errors

    Washington Times ^ | March 14, 2013 | Christopher Harper
If CNN’s coverage of the election of Pope Francis I on Wednesday afternoon is any indication, Jeff Zucker and his minions are not ready for prime time — or any time for that matter. I stopped counting the number of errors from CNN’s anchor team after three pages of notes. The following are only the most egregious: • The network reported Francis is the first non-European pontiff in the history of the church. Well, how about modern-day history? St. Peter, the first pope, came from near the Sea of Galilee. A number of early pontiffs came from Africa and Asia....

The host then suggested that because the number of rocket attacks on Israel has dramatically increased since 2009, Israel’s policy has been a "failure" (Sharona Schwartz) Beyond its military operation targeting the Hamas terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, Israel is invested in an intense media campaign to make sure its side of the story is being heard overseas. But that’s not always easy to do. In an interview with Israel’s top envoy to the United States on Saturday, MSNBC provided yet another example of how much work Israeli officials face in their effort to pass through the filter of the mainstream media and...

The 2012 presidential election is still more than two weeks away, but on Friday a CBS News affiliate in Arizona called the race for President Barack Obama. For 17 seconds, Phoenix, Arizona CBS News affiliate KPHO ran a lower third graphic that showed that Obama had won the Nov. 6 election over Gov. Mitt Romney with 99% of the precincts reporting. The lower third graphic appeared around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, during an episode of “The People’s Court.” The CBS News graphic showed Obama winning the election with 43 percent of the vote nationwide to Romney’s 40 percent -–...

Oh, our aching sides! As Twitchy reported yesterday, daredevil and skydiver Felix Baumgartner made his space jump, in which he hoped to travel faster than the speed of sound. Science is hard, to lapdogs. Especially for the ones at MSNBC, evidently. Sound? Light? Same difference! No need to let pesky science get in the way.

Another act of mass violence, another round of finger-pointing directed at tea party members. When ABC News issued a report Friday suggesting that the horrific shooting at a Colorado movie theater was perpetrated by a suspect with ties to the movement, the situation had a familiar feel to it, tea party leaders say. Just as in January 2011, when the Tucson shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords sparked speculation that the perpetrator was either affiliated with the tea party or influenced by its anti-government rhetoric, members were again wrongly fingered as possible culprits and forced to defend themselves against the assumption...

Breitbart News spoke to James Michael Holmes, the Tea Party member falsely identified this morning by ABC News' Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America as the possible suspect in the mass shooting early this morning at a screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. He is a 52-year-old Hispanic conservative who joined the Tea Party after becoming disillusioned with the Republican party. "It was freaky," said Holmes, describing his reaction when ABC News speculated that he was the culprit who entered a crowded theater and opened fire on dozens of innocent men, women, and...

On today's edition of MSNBC Live, anchor Thomas Roberts talked with Michael Barbaro of the New York Times discussing the so-called Young Guns who are on the short list to be Mitt Romney's running mate: Sen. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.), Gov. Bobby Jindal (La.), and Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.). But when the MSNBC graphics team showed photos of the Young Guns, they accidentally used a photo of Rep. Ron Paul, the septuagenarian former Republican presidential candidate with strong libertarian convictions, in lieu of Paul Ryan. (CNSNews.com) – NBC apologized for omitting the words “under God” and “indivisible” from the Pledge of Allegiance during Sunday’s U.S. Open, but the incident has touched off calls for NBC to hold those responsible for the omission accountable. During the opening broadcast of the U.S. Open, NBC showed a montage that included children reciting the pledge, but the words “under God” and “indivisible” were omitted twice. The network received immediate backlash about the incident through social media, including tweets calling for a boycott of NBC. “We began our coverage of this final round just about three hours ago, and when...

For three days, James Sikes held America's highest honor: victim. The nation had been transfixed by his almost half-hour-long 94-mph horror ride in his runaway Toyota Prius. He burned his brakes right down to the metal, unable to even slow the vehicle. Only his prescience in calling 911, followed by a highway patrol officer providing assistance, saved his life. Then my article "Toyota Hybrid Horror Hoax" at Forbes.com brought it crashing down. But lest you get false impressions from that title, the real hoaxter wasn't Jim Sikes, but the media. Red flags about his story were popping up from the...

No one can convincingly explain exactly how the crime problem was solved. Police chiefs around the country credit improved police work. Demographers cite changing demographics of an aging population. Some theorists point to the evolution of the drug trade at both the wholesale and retail levels, while for veterans of the Clinton Administration, the preferred explanation is their initiative to hire more cops. Renegade economist Steven Levitt has speculated that legalized abortion caused the drop in crime. (Fewer unwanted babies in the 1970s and '80s grew up to be thugs in the 1990s and beyond.) The truth probably lies in...
