DES MOINES—Herman Cain has captured lightning in a bottle. That's the political cliché for the blast of popularity he's experiencing. But in Iowa, a state that has traditionally rewarded well-organized campaigns, the question is whether Cain is all lightning and no bottle. His supporters and political consultants are trying to get him to spend time and energy in the state, but he has a different plan. “He really doesn't have much of an organization,” says Jeffrey Jorgensen, the chairman of the Pottawattamie County Republican Party who supports Cain and calls him the “Anti-Obama... If Cain does well in Iowa, it...

WASHINGTON — Republican White House hopeful Rick Perry tried to revive his campaign Friday but got dragged into a religious row and saw a plea to Christian voters drowned out by fast-rising longshot Herman Cain. Perry, who exploded into the White House race in August but has since fallen back after wobbly debate performances, sought to win over evangelical Christian conservative voters, a crucial bloc in the party nominating contest.

...But the hatred that has been aimed at Herman Cain is like none other that I have ever witnessed. Why exactly the Left hates Mr. Cain can only be guessed at. Whatever the reason, it is not based in reality but on hatred. And now there's this: there are liberals calling for his assassination or, at the 'very least,' his death. It is so disgusting and disturbing on so many different levels that it boggles my mind. Here are just a few examples that I found: This comment came from a News One article which called on Herman Cain to...

...After Herman Cain's landslide victory at the Florida Straw Poll last week, the "racist" label that liberals had been sticking to everyone had clearly been showed as a fraud. Mr. Cain is the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza and has been a Tea Party favorite for months. He also happens to be African American, but the voters at the Poll did not care. In the end, Mr. Cain ended with 37% of the vote, more than twice as much as anyone else. So the Left was clearly stuck in a quandary of what label to stick Mr. Cain with. The...

...That brings us to yesterday, when Herman Cain, a former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, won a surprise landslide victory in the Florida Republican Straw Poll. Mr. Cain happens to be African-American, but those voting did not care. He received 37% of the vote. He was chosen as the best candidate simply because people at the straw poll thought he was the best candidate. The second highest vote-getter was Rick Perry with only 15%. Considering Mr. Cain's decisive victory and the massive support that he has received from the Tea Party, one may think that that would utterly disprove the talking...

When talking about life in general and his campaign, which has gained momentum in the last several months, former-Godfather CEO Herman Cain said during the GOP debate this week, “A poet once said life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it’s never easy when there’s so much on the line.” Mr. Cain apparently did not know that this line was from a song in a Pokemon movie. Despite this, I honestly see nothing wrong with using this line. Sure, it's from a television show aimed at kids, but the message is good (particularly compared to a lot...

Herman Cain, buoyed by his debate success and a recent groundswell of support, announced Friday to a crowd of 200 that he would be seeking the Republican nomination for President in 2012. His statement came at Iowa Western Community College, which was promptly followed by a standing ovation. According to his press secretary, Cain will make the official announcement today, May 21. On his boost from the recent Republican debate, Cain spokeswoman Ellen Carmichael stated: "It increases people's confidence in his credibility and his legitimacy, but we already thought we had some." Despite this, however, some believe that Cain has...

BATON ROUGE, La. -- As fearful residents rush to stock up on guns, Wal-Mart, one of the region's biggest suppliers, abruptly stopped selling them at 40 stores scattered throughout the Gulf Coast. -snip- Wal-Mart's decision to stop gun sales also earned it praise from several customers, who said police would protect them from any trouble. ''Why can't we get along? This is a time of crisis," said Mike White of Kenner, La. He said people who need guns for legitimate reasons, such as hunting, would not be buying now.
