When talking about life in general and his campaign, which has gained momentum in the last several months, former-Godfather CEO Herman Cain said during the GOP debate this week, A poet once said life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but its never easy when theres so much on the line.
Mr. Cain apparently did not know that this line was from a song in a Pokemon movie. Despite this, I honestly see nothing wrong with using this line. Sure, it's from a television show aimed at kids, but the message is good (particularly compared to a lot of messages contemporary shows spew) and it works for Mr. Cain.
However, in the age we live in, anything is a "gotcha question." NY Mag jumped all over Mr. Cain and quickly went into attack mode. They called the quote "weird," "strange," and "bizarre."
They then wrote this idiotic "explanation" where they attacked Mr. Cain for no apparent reason, other than they don't like him:
Herman Cain saw the Pokémon movie with one of his grandkids in the summer of 2000 and was greatly moved by the "The Power of One." After a decade had gone by, he recalled the song and wanted to use it in his campaign, but he forgot where he heard it, mistakenly pegged it to the summer Olympics, and was too busy fighting the scourge of Sharia to look it up online. Then sometime in the past two months, he somehow came to believe that the song lyrics he had been quoting throughout the campaign were actually the words of some unnamed poet. It's not the most elegant explanation, but it's the only one we can come up with.

Who gives a chit about a quote? People are so busy counting threads that they neglect the issues.
Little Chrissy and company never did ask about term limits, they did not bring up Fair Tax, they did not approach real spending cuts. Why is there not an outrage about that?
Pay no attention to the racists. They are filled with hate and intolerance.
“(Insert any conservative here) ATTACKED after (fill in anything here)”
I YAWN in their general direction.
I’m sure it would have been considered hip and cool and zero had said it, right no-bias-here “media”?
Who cares. barry quotes the communists manifesto all the time.
Pokemon is morally admirable, I believe. But it’s OK for the left to quote from some sleazy rocker or rapper?
Apparently, the guys who are attacking him ARE aware that it is a line from a Pokemon movie. What does that say about them?
if zero had said it...
liberal racists are legions.
Did anyone see Hermain Cain sing last night on Hannity? He has a beautiful voice.
Pokemon is dog fighting with weird dogs.
This is good news. The MSM and it’s communist travelers do not waste time going after anyone they deem not a danger to the Democratic/Communist Party. This just means he IS now considered a threat and need be demonized and belittled. Now I will admit it’s little mistakes like this that he is constantly making that make him not ready for prime time but the opposistion obviously thinks he is getting there and they must as Barney Fife would say “nip it in the bud.”

"Go, Pikachu! Fight those RINOs!"

A conservative always does well to look for quotes in the words of our founders.
Poets are songwriters who can’t carry a tune.
I’m getting the distinct impression that the concept of
“weird”, the profligate use of the term “weird”, is becoming very popular especially in the MSM/Lefty print media to describe just about EVERYONE on the Republican/Conservative side. Soon enough they’re be applying it even to Romney, if not to him personally , then to Mormonism indirectly as “weird”, What could they have to gain be using this word, and hoping it will catch on as a general concept for would-be Dem voters to mull over and repeat? Looks like they’re providing a basic short-cut and a dumbed-down ‘talking point’, which is on the level of grade-school/high-school verbiage.”Weird”, “spooky”,”scary”———every day is Hallowe’en for those on the Left.
