While SNCC was founded as a legitimate and important civil rights organization in 1960, it has morphed into a black nationalist organization associated with the black panther party and other fringe militant organizations. Members have explicitly called for racial violence. They have discriminated against white volunteers. Eventually, SNCC turned away all white volunteers, rejecting the proud tradition of the civil rights movement in the South. They became the black version of the Ku Klux Klan. Yet Eric Holder attends their convention as a speaker.
