A federal judge has temporarily blocked a voter-approved California law that would have forced gun owners to get rid of high-capacity ammunition magazines by this Saturday. U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who is based in San Diego, issued a preliminary injuction Thursday that found the law was likely unconstitutional because it prevented people from using firearms that employed “whatever common magazine size he or she judges best suits the situation.” The law would have barred people from possessing magazines containing more than 10 bullets. “The State of California’s desire to criminalize simple possession of a firearm magazine able to hold...

  • Shameful Colo. Dem lawmaker: No veterans should have high-capacity mags; ‘some’ are mentally ill

During Friday’s marathon gun control hearing in the Colorado Senate, Republican Sen. Kent Lambert offered an amendment to exempt active military members, veterans and their families from the gun magazine ban. Enter Sen. Mary Hodge, a disgraceful Dem who urged fellow lawmakers to oppose the exemption because “some of them come back with significant mental health problems.” …

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably had a conversation with someone in the last few days who asked, “Why do ordinary law-abiding people need those semiautomatic firearms with magazines that can hold more than ten cartridges?” There are lots of sound answers. For one thing, defensive firearms are meant to be “equalizers,” force multipliers that can allow one good person to defend against multiple evil people. To allow one good person to defend against a single evil person so much stronger and/or bigger and/or more violent than he or she, that the attacker’s potentially lethal assault can be stopped. History...

From: NRA-ILA_Alerts.UM.A.2.2212@www.nranews.org Subject: ONE MORE PUSH TO END THE CLINTON GUN BAN Date: September 8, 2004 3:45:44 PM PDT ----------------------------------------------------------------- AN URGENT MESSAGE TO NRA MEMBERS: ONE MORE PUSH TO END THE CLINTON GUN BAN With only five days to go before the September 13th expiration of the 1994 Clinton gun ban, anti-gun activists across the nation are making a last stand to re-enact this ineffective legislation. But now time is running out. Congress is only in session three more days before the sunset, and because time is short, anti-gunners will be redoubling their efforts to extend the ban. Originally...

Richard Ziser for NV Senate! He supports an unabridged constitution and bill of rights, including the 2nd amendment and NFA! Some of my gun shop customers and myself celebrated the 4th with an informal shoot at our local range. II's, and a suppressed HK USP Tactical .45 After a long day of several campaign stops Richard Ziser spent the evening shooting with us, and discussing NFA, our RKBA in general, troop equipment, and whatever else came up with our...

I attended a small gathering of about 60 republican party faithful tonight. The occasion was an informal evening meeting with Nevada Senator John Ensign (R). This was an invitational event, I was still surprised and disappointed that it was not better attended. This is my favorite type of event, the cost of attendence was only $25 to cover rental of the exhibit hall, the location was nearby (Reno), and there was plenty of time available to speak directly with my favorite Nevada senator. I believe there will be another meeting tomorrow, in Las Vegas. Anyone interested can probably get information...
