HELP! King Vanity did not get a calender as per asked for at Christmas. The reason we want to put it up is the DATES size is such he can read it from his bed or wheelchair. It was in one of the Musuems as a Great Calender, and usually in the upper scale office supply catalogs. Problem on Google is I cannot remember the NAME of it. Some FReeper will know the name for sure. I think it is SILO, STATLIN, or something with a S. It has 3-4inch block size dates making it readable for someone who is...

Here is the history of my frustration. A couple of years ago, a neighbor installed an iron gate in the alley behind my house. The alley is odd, in that it takes a 90 degree turn and goes by the side of this bit..er woman's house. So her driveway is really the alley and then she turns into her own drive. The house sits fairly close to the alley, but I have seen houses that sit just as close to city streets. At any rate, it didn't make that much difference because the gate was not locked. I understand that...

All of my family (my brother, brother-in-laws, father, uncles, cousins) are in Texas and I'm stuck here in Florida, but we are having a discussion (online and on the phone) that will resume tomorrow about this picture: The arguments are about all the different models of weapons found in this pic.
  • Looking For USB Keyboard For Windows XP PC And Mac Mini OS X (Vanity)

    12/24/2005 12:01:20 PM PST · by goldstategop · 5 replies · 163+ views
My USB mouse boots up OK on my KVM switch but my PS2 (even with a standard PS2 to USB adapter) keyboard is not recognized in either Windows XP or on the Mac Mini OS X setup screen where it just hangs on detecting the keyboard. Does any one know of a USB keyboard that's cross-platform and works with both Windows XP and OS X? I need both computers to be able to detect the presence of the keyboard via the KVM Switch just like they successfully detected the presence of the mouse.

Tomorrow for Christmas dinner I would like to make a spice cake. I am having trouble finding a good recipe for the frosting. FR is a treasure trove of knowledge so I figure someone on here could help! Basically I just want to make a simple white icing/frosting. The trick is, my husband is allergic to whey. If the frosting has milk, cream, or cream cheese in it, he will not have a very merry Christmas. Butter is fine though. Does anyone have a simple recipe for a frosting that doesn't use any dairy products except for butter? Thanks and...
  • Just wondering: Did you buy "extended waranties" with your big-ticket electronic purchases?

    12/23/2005 8:10:25 AM PST · by ken5050 · 12 replies · 329+ views
    one man's opinion
I've never been a fan, or a purchaser, or so called "extended warranties" that all stores nowadays offer, indeed PUSH to sell you on big ticket items liek computers, plasma TVs..etc.. I think they're a rip off..I was reading an article in today's WSJ which seems to concur with that assessment. It mentions that Wal-Mart is now enetering the warranty business, which should cause prices to drop...So, I was wondering what you all thought about it...or had any personal experiences with them..

Does anyone by chance have a link? Any help is appreciated. The article was pretty long(fully posted, non excerpted), i beleive it discussed the rise of unions over the last 50 years(how theyve shifted from the private to the public sector/etc.) Thanks

So on a computer with at least an 80 gb hard drive and not that much stored on it, the syatem shows the C Drive 95% full and the D Drive 95% empty.Software won't load at times and he had such problems running internet dial up software that he gave up.It's a Sony...

I found an ad for a favorite beverage of mine on sale. It was for $29.99/1.75m. When I called the store to ask if this was correct. I was informed that it was an error and that the price was for a 750m bottle. The store said that the paper had posted a retraction. Are they still bound by the price that was posted in the original ad?

Greetings fellow Freepers!I just recently convinced my father (Age 75) to drop AOL and go broadband (It only took 3 years). He is really happy about the change. Just as a background: he was diagnosed with A.L.S. 2 years ago. This is probably going to be his last Christmas, God willing I hope he has many more. I have 12 years experience with the internet but have always been AOL-Phobic. Are there any tools out there for completely ridding a PC of AOL?Perhaps some kind of Registry Scrubbing tool? Many, Many Thanks in advance :)

I am trying to do a model RR layout for Christmas. I am working with Lionel O Gauge trains. I'd like some hints or references to sites on how to do elevations, mountains, etc. I am concerned about the grade a newer Lionel set can handle. I also wonder what kind of amterial I can use to shape things like slopes, hills, mountains, etc.
