The leftists at the Harvard Crimson have spoken out against transgender athlete bans and claimed that the evidence to support the case that men have a physical advantage over women is “less conclusive.” However, in the process of making the assertion, the article ignored all evidence to the contrary to support their own claim that transgender athlete participation is wholly benign. In the college paper’s April 16 editorial, entitled, There Are Many Obstacles Facing Women’s Sports. Trans Athletes Aren’t One, writer Jonathan G. Yuan writes for The Crimson Editorial Board that the “science” is “less conclusive” that “transgender women hold...

It has been obvious for quite a while that pandemic-induced school closings and extended remote learning were going to have substantial negative effects on development among K-12 students. Equally obvious has been that Democrat-controlled jurisdictions — which include essentially all of the major cities with high concentrations of poor and minority students in the education system — have indulged in the longest school closures and the most remote learning. Clearly, this would lead to major negative results for the poor and minority students in these jurisdictions, particularly as compared to the students in places where schools mostly remained open for...

Last month, Harvard Law School deemed Israel in a report to the United Nations as “an apartheid regime.” They issued a 22 page report claiming that Israel systematically discriminates against Palestinians and suppresses their civil and political rights.” Harvard’s report “finds that Israel’s actions in the occupied West Bank are in breach of the prohibition of apartheid and amount to the crime of apartheid under international law.” Now, the editorial board of the Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper at Harvard University, has endorsed the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement. They also expressed support for Harvard’s Palestine Solidarity Committee, a student group...

GASP! Who ever head of such a thing? A campus political organization endorsing the re-election of their party's president. Such was the outrage of the Harvard student newspaper, The Crimson, over the endorsement by the Harvard Republican Club of President Donald Trump for re-election. The Crimson's editorial, "Harvard Republicans Hail to the Chief," denouncing this endorsement sputtered with outrage over what they seem to consider a heinous act.

“It’s incredible you got into Harvard — especially with its racist admission policies!” I heard the sentiment of this impassioned exclamation all too frequently in the months following my acceptance. Everyone guilty of saying it meant well. They probably even believed that the last bit — the one that never failed to provoke an internal grimace — strengthened the compliment, elevating the gravity of my achievement. Of course, I’d happily accept the praise if the sentiments fueling it didn’t have the potential to harm other equally-deserving Harvard hopefuls. Unfortunately, that potential remains strong, more so now than ever. During this...

We’ve recently explored the ways college pro-abortion activists are woefully ill-equipped to confront pro-life thought, and now a recent segment on Fox News gives us a glimpse why. Megyn Kelly recently interviewed Rachel Huebner, a Harvard student and staff writer with the Harvard Crimson, who says she has witnessed “open discourse [being] stifled” and a “lack of freedom of expression,” which is “occurring at Harvard and campuses nationwide.” She cites a particularly glaring incident involving abortion: HUEBNER: We were discussing general guidelines for class and specific things that people might find offensive, and this was just one specific instance of...

If you might want to insult Harvard down the line, go elsewhereIf you think Harvard is a revolutionary communist hotbed, don’t apply. If you think Harvard is full of “pinheaded” professors, don’t enroll. And if you think Harvard pollutes the minds of its students, don’t walk out of here with a degree—and certainly don’t get two. You see, lately, there seems to be a pernicious trend of public figures—especially those on the right—falling in love with Harvard just long enough to benefit from its educational resources and, yes, its social prestige, before turning against our school. Just recently, Senator Ted...

The Harvard Crimson published an editorial urging conservatives not to apply to Harvard if they intend to criticize the university down the line for political points. The editorial, titled “Warning: Do Not Enroll,” denigrates famous conservatives who graduated from Harvard and later sharply — and perhaps hypocritically — complained about the university’s liberal ideology, including former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, and Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly. “If we could have spoken to these three men, we would have told them never to come to Cambridge,” wrote the staff of the Crimson. “We at The Crimson...

Pity the poor Harvard Crimson. When reporting from that bastion of political correctness, Harvard, it is quite easy to inadvertently wander onto the dangerous shoals of thought crimes. Such was the case when the Crimson used a (GASP!) gendered pronoun to describe a new member of the Harvard faculty and was subsequently forced to issue a correction for their heinous misdeed:CORRECTION: July 3 An earlier version of this article used the pronoun "she" to refer to Vanidy "Van" Bailey, the newly appointed director of bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, and queer student life. In fact, Bailey prefers not to be referred...

In the same week the Obama campaign quietly removed from its official website a page managed by a fundraiser tied to the Islamic terrorist group Hamas, its official blogger has come under attack as a "hardcore Marxist" for hanging a Communist Party flag in his Harvard campus apartment and publishing in a self-professed 'revolutionary Marxist' journal. Sam Graham-Felsen, a journalist-on-leave from The Nation, joined Obama for America in March 2007 where he works for the New Media department as the official blogger, daily presenting the campaign's public face. Now he's under fire for his reputed Marxist sympathies from bloggers at...

Return to the Article April 27, 2008Another Obama MarxistBy Lance Fairchok Barack Obama has a thing for Marxists. He befriends them, listens to their counsel, and he even hires them to work in his campaign. And they seem to feel the warmth. President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, who led a revolution there in 1979, says Barack Obama's presidential bid is a "revolutionary" phenomenon, and Americans are "laying the foundations for a revolutionary change." A captured computer revealed that an unknown person chatted with Marxist FARC guerillas on Obama's behalf (they believed), stating he would be the next President and US policy...

Sean Barrett has seen a lot in his four years at Harvard. He’s consistently been among the top Crimson finishers at various regional meets since his freshman year. He’s seen coaches come and go. He’s competed with and against formidable tracksters across New England and beyond. Now he’s getting ready to embark on a journey that will show him more about himself and his world than he could ever imagine. Barrett has joined the U.S. Marine Corps and has committed, initially, to serving four years. It’s a decision that seems almost incongruous for a bright athlete from the Ivy League....

Discussing the character-assassination techniques of Democrats like Ted Kennedy yesterday, CNN's Jeff Greenfield said: The temptation for some of these witnesses must be enormous, particularly if it’s a more hostile situation, to just lean over the table and just let some of the senators know what you’re really thinking about their intellectual capacity, their hypocrisy. If they attack him for, I don’t know, being the member of a club, to say “Well really? Where’d you spend your time? How many restrictive clubs have you...?” They can’t do that. It’s not part of the ethic. : Conservative activists, meanwhile, were eager...

...The Federal Election Commission could not have foreseen that when it required employment information on political donations of over $200, it would expose scandalous uniformity in a university community that advertises its diversity.... Campus bloggers computed the percentages of Kerry contributions over Bush: Cornell 93%, Dartmouth 97%, Yale 93%, Brown 89%. Personally, I greatly enjoy being in the conservative opposition. My colleagues are cordial, and since I'm not looking for promotions I willingly sustain an occasional snub for the greater advantage of being able to speak my mind. Students making the transition from liberal to conservative are often wounded by...

Published on Wednesday, February 18, 1970 John Kerry: A Navy Dove Runs for Congress By SAMUEL Z. GOLDHABER Crimson Staff Writer "...One time Kerry was ordered to destroy a Viet Cong village but disobeyed orders and suggested that the Navy Command simply send in a Psychological Warfare team to be friend the villagers with food, hospital supplies, and better educational facilities."

A poll in this week’s Time Magazine shows that the relentless Swift Boat Veterans ads and the Republican National Convention—a somewhat unprecedented incumbent convention, considering the amount of attention devoted to the weaknesses of the challenger—have taken a toll on John F. Kerry. The poll shows President Bush leading Kerry 52 percent to 41 percent, with Kerry’s favorability rating down from about 55 percent in August to 43 percent today. More surprising than the magnitude of Bush’s bounce, however, is the fact that Kerry seems to be taking it sitting down. Rather than challenge the president with a slew of...

JOHN Kerry was certainly not a draft dodger, but he was against the Vietnam War before he enlisted in the Navy. According to a story in the Harvard Crimson, which covered Kerry's run for a Boston congressional seat in 1970, Kerry "urged the U.S. to withdraw from Vietnam" in his Yale commencement speech in 1966. "When he approached his draft board for permission to study for a year in Paris, the draft boad refused and Kerry decided to enlist," the Crimson stated.

While researching info on Kerry's draft notice (where is it?) I tried to link to the ORIGINAL Harvard crimson article" "John Kerry: A Navy Dove Runs for Congress" in the Feb 18, 1970 Harvard Crimson. Via Google, every link I found came up with a blank page. No matter what I used for search words still blank page.

Senator John Kerry, the presumed Democratic presidential candidate who is trading on his Vietnam war record to campaign against President George W Bush, tried to defer his military service for a year, according to a newly rediscovered article in a Harvard University newspaper. He wrote to his local recruitment board seeking permission to spend a further 12 months studying in Paris, after completing his degree course at Yale University in the mid-1960s. The revelation appears to undercut Sen Kerry's carefully-cultivated image as a man who willingly served his country in a dangerous war - in supposed contrast to President Bush,...
