Friend, you don't earn PHs. You got in the way. You have a fixed psn and I can't do anything about where you are coming from.. Cheers, Hack

All 3 of Kerry's PH were IAW Navy regs at the time... It is fair to atk Kerry's politics but not his awards which he received the hardway and IAW Navy regs. I am afraid you are not in a position to judge my honor and I standby strongly what I wrote in the USA piece. If you haven't walked the walk, you can't talk the talk. I have 8 PHs. None were signed off by my skipper. The reg read the award is triggered by a casualty rpt. Not by a CO. I will write more on Kerry down...

Col. Hackworth, Over the years, I have enjoyed very much your rather acerbic columns dedicated to rooting out corruption in the armed services. I was in the USN more years ago than I like to remember. On my first (and only) real sea duty, I was assigned to the U.S.S. Proteus (AS-19). I had the privilege of serving under two Captains there and the difference between the two was like night and day. One was a real leader and the other was a 'perfumed prince'. I cheered you on when you went after Admiral Boorda for wearing some awards he...

Michael Moore wants to infringe on traditional parental rights. In a story on his movie, on 6/23/2004 at about 5:53 PM PT, on CNN, Michael Moore in response to his movie having an "R" rating said this exactly: "I encourage teenagers everywhere to sneak in and see it" So what does an R rating mean. R Rating: From the Motion Picture Association of America = Restricted - Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian How about standard definition of teenager. "A person between the ages of 13 and 19; an adolescent." I just disagree with this statement he made....

Will this film make a difference in how people vote in this election? Michael says it will. Anybody who is sitting on the fence on which way to go, or anybody who is an Independent, after watching the film your vote won't likely be going to Bush. And he says it is not him (Moore) saying this; it is the people who have seen the film. Immediately after accepting the Award and leaving the stage, the first words spoken to you are from two interns. One offers and says, "Champagne?" The other says, "Breath mint?" Dave laughs and says, "You're...

1970's songbird Linda Ronstadt, best known for her torch song-style and mellow ballads, is working overtime these days trying to persuade her fellow Arizonans that it's time to dump President Bush "right away." In an interview broadcast on Saturday, Ronstadt was in the middle of explaining to WABC Radio's Mark Simone why she prefers living in Arizona to Los Angeles or New York, when she added one caveat. "The politics are very conservative here and I'm not conservative. I'm having a hard time sometimes convincing people that we need to vote for a new president," she offered. When Simone begged...

As an American citizen, I’m ashamed of the atrocities committed by Americans in Iraq. As a former professional soldier, I’m appalled not only by what has happened in the prisons there, but also by our military leadership. From the very top of the Pentagon down to the 320th Military Police Battalion, the brass have spent months covering up obscene behavior while placing the sole blame on Joe and Jill Grunt. The damage to our country and our just war on terrorism is already devastating. And these war crimes not only diminish the sacrifices of our gallant soldiers in Iraq and...

LOS ANGELES -- An America Online customer service rep illicitly surfs the company's customer database, ferrets out private data on celebrity members and then hunts them down online under a false identity, seeking fame and fortune in Hollywood.

Sound like a prelude to prison? Not in the case of Heather Robinson. The former AOL employee managed to parlay privacy violations into useful contacts in Hollywood. With the help of those contacts, Robinson, 25, landed a movie deal, and she's using her toehold in the industry to advance another.

PALM BEACH, Florida -- A new computer chip promises to keep police guns from firing if they fall into the wrong hands.

The tiny chip would be implanted in a police officer's hand and would match up with a scanning device inside a handgun. If the officer and gun match, a digital signal unlocks the trigger so it can be fired. But if a child or criminal would get hold of the gun, it would be useless.

The country is in an uproar over former White House terrorism expert Richard Clarke's recent contentions, which will continue to be debated.

Let me give some insight on my own very recent (February 2004) experience with Mr. Clarke, who teaches a class at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He teaches this class with Rand Beers, a former government official with National Security Council experience who now works on the Democratic presidential campaign.

A Palestinian terrorist group accused American and Israeli groups Saturday of hacking its Web site to pieces. Islamic Jihad, which has carried out suicide bombings in Israel, said the unidentified groups had destroyed the site to silence "the Palestinian voice." In a statement faxed to The Associated Press in Beirut, the group said: "In an attempt aimed at silencing the Palestinian voice - which speaks for the resistance and defends the Palestinian people's right - hostile and malevolent Zionist and American quarters have struck the official Web site of Al Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement."...

At this point we all realize that there were some serious problems with the intelligence information being supplied to President Bush prior to the liberation of Iraq. Based on that intelligence information Bush thought that Saddam Hussein had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons that could be pressed into service in short order. Not only did George Bush believe this intelligence information, but so did quite a few other people. Do you need some reminders? OK .. here goes. On October 9, 1998 some members of the U.S. Senate sent a letter to Bill Clinton expressing their concerns about Saddam...

WASHINGTON -- A company developing security technology for electronic voting suffered an embarrassing hacker break-in that executives think was tied to the rancorous debate over the safety of casting ballots online.

VoteHere of Bellevue, Wash., confirmed Monday that U.S. authorities are investigating a break-in of its computers months ago, when someone roamed its internal computer network. The intruder accessed internal documents and may have copied sensitive software blueprints that the company planned eventually to disclose publicly.

Hack's Target Try a Little Old-Fashioned Shoe Leather By David H. Hackworth Fort Stewart, Ga. – home of the U.S. Army’s mighty 3rd Mech “Marne” Division – got eaten alive by the press last week. This is the same gallant outfit George Bush honored with the Presidential Unit Citation for its record-breaking charge across the desert to seize Baghdad in a blitzkrieg that set the bar for future conflicts. What triggered the feeding frenzy was UPI reporting that “Hundreds of sick and wounded U.S. soldiers including many who served in the Iraq war are languishing in hot cement barracks ......
