[history]
The country is in an uproar over former White House terrorism expert Richard Clarke's recent contentions, which will continue to be debated.
Let me give some insight on my own very recent (February 2004) experience with Mr. Clarke, who teaches a class at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He teaches this class with Rand Beers, a former government official with National Security Council experience who now works on the Democratic presidential campaign.

Clarke is just peddling his book, wating fame even if it means being exposed as a liar.

Apparently Mr. Clarke was only "spinning" while in the classroom. Before the Commission, however, I'm sure he told the God Honest Truth.
Not.

I'm not so sure the country's in an uproar. The media and their Liberal kin might be. The rest of us can see through this phony bastard.

The bottom line is Mr. Clarke obfuscated the truth in my presence for some unknown reason. In the fullness of time the reasons for Clarke's suspect veracity will become known. The one truth that is evident, is that he is not motivated by patriotism.

Clarke is peddling a lot more manure than books. Some would say the book is manure too, but Clarke keeps insisting it'snot.

Proves once again that Clarke lies when no advantage is gained from lying.
When challenged and proved wrong he is unable to say he is wrong. Congenital comes to mind.

Another confirmation of the veracity of Richard Clarke. Think I will make some copies; make a trip to B&N; Chapter 11. . .and unobtrusively, insert them in his book; along wih some of his now, better known and original, observations of the Clinton Terror program.

Similar to saying it was "the military" that made a unilateral decision to pull out of Somalia, Clarke stated on Hardball when asked about the predator video footage showing bin Laden that it was "the CIA" that made the decision not to strike.
He even characterized it as "President Clinton was 100% not responsible for not going after him, it was the CIA".
Also, Clarke states in his book that one of the '93 WTC bombers was from Iraq and when he returned there after the attack he was jailed. Laurie Myrlroie and Richard Miniter have both pointed out this is an incredible "error". In fact, they both say, this bomber was given a house and a monthly stipend.
As time goes on Clarke's misrepresentations and perhaps outright lies (as opposed to innocent errors, which I doubt) have exposed a man with little to no credibility, that conversely the corrupt democrats and liberals in the media have embraced as one with "indisputable credibility". Once again with them down is up and up is down.

I don't care what Clarke said. If, in fact, Les Aspin withdrew the military from Somalia without the consent or orders from the President, Clinton has more problems with his legacy than I could have imagined.
To: tallhappy
Because he purposely misled the class into believing the U.S. military,
not the administration controlling the military,
made the decision to leave Somalia at a critical time in the mission. When given a chance
to correct the record, he chose not to do so.
My speculation(s)?
1. Clarke is probably now preparing the msp for his next book about "a silent coup"
in which the US Military mission in Somalia was actually a rouge operation that
the victimized Clinton administration had no control over...
2. And as usual, Clarke will apologize to the family/friends of the US military
killed in the "Blackhawk Down" incident.
AND
3. He's hoping to muddy the waters so people don't take more note of his
role in assisting the genocide of 800,000 people in Rwanda (he did NOT agree to
be intereviewed for the PBS FrontLine special that aired this last week; Maddy Albright
said Clarke told her to basically do nothing in Rwanda).
