Rock Island Auction has quickly become one of the premier gun auction places on the Internet. Rock Island Auction is separate from Rock Island Arsenal. It is a word association for marketing. There is no legal association. Both institutions are located in Rock Island, Illinois, but have no overlap. Rock Island Auction is also frequently confused with Rock Island Armory, also known as Armscor. Armscor is a firearm and ammunition manufacturer based in Nevada.Rock Island Auction (RIA) had its first regional auction in February of 2003. It was a 600 gun auction. The auction was designed as an in-person auction...

Young Auctioneer Auctions off Guns The Wagoner County Oklahoma Sheriff's office held an auction of guns from its property room on 19 August, 2017.  For a segment of the gun auction, the auctioneer was a boy, about 12 years old. He does an excellent job.  You may have to scroll down the facebook page a bit to see the video. Link to facebook video: The firearms went for surprisingly low prices, compared to most gun auctions that I have seen. The Marlin .22 rifles went for about $100, and Browning patent Auto-5 type shotgun only brought $200. It is...

Reform of Kansas gun laws are paying off.  In 2014, Kansas passed a law requiring government entities to sell or use firearms that came into their possession rather than to destroy these valuable assets in a modern version of the Medieval Deodand law. In Deodand law, items were tried and sentences passed.  They were destroyed or forfeited to the Church for Godly purposes.  The legal precedent is continued in modern forfeiture laws. Kansas stopped that superstitious practice with the reform of the gun law.  From the dailycaller.com: This bill will prohibit seized firearms not used in the commission of...
  • Confiscated Guns Above Average at South Dakota Government Auction

Meade County, South Dakota will be having a surplus property auction on May 13, 2014.   While the county sheriff initially opposed auctioning off the guns (he preferred to trade them to a dealer), more fiscally responsible heads prevailed.  The firearms are considerately above the average seen in these type of sales, perhaps because these guns were confiscated in rural South Dakota instead of inner city of Chicago.   Or perhaps the guns in the inner city might go through a different "selection" process before making it to a gun sale.  From the Rapid City Journal, we have a list of...
