Sharpton friend and gambling company owe $72M in taxes: authorities
An associate of the Rev. Al Sharpton who is trying to open a glitzy upstate casino is an accused tax deadbeat — joining another pal of the preacher and the rev’s own National Action Network as targets of tax collectors. Alabama authorities claim that Greenetrack and its CEO, Luther Winn, Jr., owe $72 million in sales taxes and interest from electronic bingo game revenue in its betting facilities in that state. Winn, who serves on the network’s board, is the lead partner in the bid to open a massive 140-acre Grand Hudson casino resort near Stewart Airport in Orange County....
