Democratic members of the House Select Committee on Benghazi published their final report on the investigation into the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attack Monday, front-running the findings from committee Republicans that are expected to be released within days. The 339-page report was accompanied by the unclassified versions of transcripts from interviews with dozens of witnesses involved in the handling of the attack. Democrats vowed their report would highlight "abuses" from Chairman Trey Gowdy and panel Republicans who probed the circumstances surrounding Benghazi for more than two years. The minority report, entitled "Honoring Courage, Improving Security, and Fighting the Exploitation of...

BREAKING: Gowdy Releases Report Proving Dem Insiders Obstructed Benghazi Investigation From the very moment of its inception, Democrat members of the House Benghazi Select Committee have worked to sabotage, subvert and otherwise obstruct the committee’s efforts to discover the truth of what happened that fateful night of Sept. 11, 2012, in Libya. Now that the committee’s work is drawing near a close after two years, with chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., promising to release a final report soon, the Democrat members are demanding a bigger role in the drafting of the report. But Gowdy, though “mildly amused” at this latest bid by the Democrats, is not...

Appearances by top presidential advisers Susan Rice and Ben Rhodes before the House Benghazi committee earlier this year weren’t always a sure thing – the testimony was only secured after a secret meeting in January between panel head Trey Gowdy and White House officials, a source tells Fox News. The source familiar with the negotiations said the White House originally said no to the request to have National Security Adviser Rice and deputy Rhodes speak to the committee probing the 2012 Benghazi attacks. But Gowdy, R-S.C., stepped in to personally negotiate for their appearances at the secret meeting, held late

Washington, D.C. — Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy (SC-04) released the following statement announcing the upcoming private testimony of additional witnesses: “Our committee continues to break an immense amount of new ground as we compile the most comprehensive accounting of what happened before, during and after the terrorist attacks in Benghazi. As we approach our 80th witness interview and work to release our report and recommendations before summer, it’s time for the administration to turn over the records this committee requested nearly a year ago. The American people and the families of the victims deserve the truth, and...

The Obama administration pursued a policy in Libya back in 2011 that ultimately allowed guns to walk into the hands of jihadists linked to the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) and al-Qaeda (AQ) in Syria, according to a former CIA officer who co-authored a report on behalf of the Citizen’s Commission on Benghazi (CCB), detailing the gun running scheme. In Congress, the then-bipartisan group known as the “Gang of Eight,†at a minimum, knew of the operation to aid and abet America’s jihadist enemies by providing them with material support. So says Clare Lopez, a former CIA officer and the primary author...

A CNN reporter who was recently suspended for two weeks for violating the network’s editorial guidelines showed up in a new trove of State Department emails released on Tuesday in which she appears to have coordinated social media posts with a top Hillary Clinton State Department aide during the former secretary of state’s Jan. 23, 2013 Senate testimony about the Benghazi attacks. The emails, which were released to the website Gawker, show that Elise Labott, a foreign affairs reporter at CNN, took guidance from Clinton aide Philippe Reines by posting a tweet criticizing Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul for asking Clinton...

Our country just went through a spectacle indicative of our government's operational dysfunction. Politics comes before the safety of our State Department personnel and the truth. There are a lot of takeaways from this event that have a lasting effect. Overview: This committee exists and these hearings were being held because 1) Our State Department personnel were left under-protected in the neighboring country to one where our embassy had just been assaulted and four of our fellow countrymen died. No one truly took responsibility or suffered any consequences for this massive failure. 2) This administration stonewalled on providing documents to...

WASHINGTON -- We are told that our political system here in Washington is "broken." The left and the right do not get along, and usually it is because the right is obdurately partisan. Actually, it is not the political system that is broken. It is much wider than the political system. It is the political culture, that is to say: the politicians, the operatives, the financial supporters and the voters (left and right). It is also the commentators, the reporters, the editors; in a word the media (left and right). The left-wing press sees things one way and reports on...

Following Wednesday night’s CNBC Republican presidential debate, on Thursday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Charlie Rose repeatedly tried to lecture Senator Marco Rubio over Hillary Clinton’s role in the 2012 Benghazi attack. After Rubio stated that he had not engaged in personal attacks throughout this campaign, Rose immediately rushed to defend Clinton and proclaimed that on the issue of Benghazi "Well, well, you called Hillary Clinton a liar, senator. You called Hillary Clinton a liar." ... Rose continued to lecture the Florida senator and claimed “Senator, you know -- you know that -- The CIA was changing its own assessment of...

I have long maintained that Democrats can spread a lie better and faster than Republicans can tell the truth. The Benghazi Select Committee Hearings proved my thesis. A few salient points were made. For example, Rep. Jim Jordan unearthed an email from Clinton to daughter Chelsea, penned while the violence still raged, describing the attack as perpetrated by an “Al-Qaeda-like group,” and a next day conversation with the Egyptian Prime Minister admitting “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest.” All the while, Clinton was telling the...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/oct/22/editorial-congress-failed-benghazi-responsibility/ The House leadership, when it is installed and settled, should press for a new way to conduct oversight. There should be fewer speeches by members tailored for re-election campaign commercials and better questions from the members of the committee and their lawyers. Mr. Gowdy is a former federal prosecutor but his performance Thursday hardly demonstrated that. The hearing was undisciplined in time and narrative. Learning from this hearing, making oversight more effective, would be a way to honor the four Americans who gave their lives for their country at Benghazi. They deserved better than they got from Hillary Clinton...

Hillary Clinton is scheduled to appear before congress and testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi this week. Everything about this hearing is a total sham. ♦ When we first completed the 11,000 word research paper in 2013 called “The Benghazi Briefâ€, and against a considerable backlash, we shared an unfortunate reality/prediction. Nothing about what led up to the attack would ever be discussed in public. ♦ In August of 2014, upon completion of the updated Benghazi Brief, we stated that Congressman Trey Gowdy would never be allowed to publicly divulge the back-story of what led to the September 11th, 2012,...

RUSH: Mrs. Clinton. Ladies, by the way: When did Hillary start wearing a wig? (interruption) Just what I said. When did she start wearing a wig? (interruption) Oh. Well, all right. I'm just asking. Ladies and gentlemen, regular listeners of this program should know I have been saying lately -- in fact, I've been saying for many, many moons here -- that I refuse to get sucked in to the daily Drive-By Media soap opera. I just refuse it. And it's hard to do. As somebody whose job is based on what's happening out there, I have to interact with...

Longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin entered a closed-door meeting of the House Select Committee on Benghazi Friday morning, for what is likely to be a protracted interview session. Abedin, wearing a black and white floral dress, declined to speak to a group of reporters assembled outside the basement meeting room while heading in on Friday. Ahead of the closed testimony, a GOP committee aide said that Abedin will be asked about “the events leading up to, during and after the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012 and executive branch activities and efforts to comply...

Former Benghazi-committee staffer Bradley Podliska, an intelligence officer in the Air Force Reserve and a self-described conservative Republican, didn’t set out to save Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. But his public fight with the committee may be the best thing to happen to Clinton since House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy boasted that the committee’s work had damaged her political prospects. In an interview that aired this afternoon, Podliska told CNN’s Jake Tapper that unnamed senior members of the committee’s leadership had asked him to stop investigating how the Obama administration came to blame the Benghazi attacks on an anti-Islam YouTube video....

Trey Gowdy's House Select Committee on Benghazi will be making public new documents demonstrating Clinton crony, Sidney Blumenthal (blackballed from US govt employment) was seeking business in Libya at the same time he was advising then-SoS Hillary Clinton on US policy in Libya. Chairman Trey Gowdy's lengthy letter to Cong Elijah Cummings, ranking Committee Democrat, said that, on at least one occasion, Clinton sought to aid Blumenthal's business interests in Libya. Gowdy's 13-page letter to Cummings also details new concerns about compromised security on Clinton's email, noting that in one unsecured email Blumenthal appears to name a top CIA source...

Longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin is scheduled to testify before the House committee investigating the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya, in the coming weeks. Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) told reporters on Thursday that Abedin would appear before a closed-door meeting of the committee at some point before Clinton’s public testimony on Oct. 22. Abedin serves a top role in Clinton’s front-running 2016 presidential campaign and was her deputy chief of staff during Clinton’s time as secretary of State. Abedin is also the wife of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.). The news about her appearance came after another former...
