This is the perfect opportunity to defeat the establishment, who are currently weakened, disoriented and perplexed at the success of candidates they consider “jackasses.” Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! This week at a Colorado fundraiser House Speaker John Boehner stunned donors when he referred to Texas Senator Ted Cruz as a “jackass.” During remarks at the event for Congressman Scott Tipton, Boehner said he was grateful that Cruz was often campaigning for President, which kept that “jackass” away from Capitol Hill. Of course if there is one person who is an expert on jackasses it is Boehner....

Are the Senate Republicans going wobbly, again? A CNN report indicates that negotiations are underway after several Republican leaders indicated they might accept a short-term spending bill as long as it included at least some spending reductions, and not necessarily the deeper cuts the House approved last weekend. Needless to say, the Senate Democratic leaders greeted the news with a "positive reaction." Publicly, House Speaker John Boehner has said Senate Democrats should accept the entire $60 Billion in cuts the Republicans pushed through the House. However, privately House leaders are acknowledging the need for a stopgap measure to continue funding...
  • Establishment GOPers don’t quite get the power of TEA party movement, but scared Democrats do

The far reaching power of the TEA party movement has thus escaped some Republican “leaders” and this will lead to their great disappointment after the November 2 elections. WE know what’s taking place in our streets and meeting halls. WE know what is coming. The problem is the myopia of the media and a number of Republican and erstwhile conservative “leaders.” The embarrassingly uninformed reactions to the new Arizona illegal alien control law clearly shows many Republicans have not recognized the new political reality. The shameful remarks about “Nazi Germany” by Connie Mack are illustrative of some of the Establishment...

Boost to legal aid for indigent residents in works [Jeb signs new law: The Civil Legal Justice Act] Sunday, July 14, 2002 By MARY KELLI BRIDGES, mkbridges@naplesnews.com Collier and Lee counties are among a few areas that soon will benefit from a new law to help provide civil legal assistance for the indigent. The Civil Legal Justice Act became effective May 30, when Gov. Jeb Bush signed it into law. It's intended to provide legal services for individuals who can't afford to hire their own attorneys but who are in need of basic assistance, such as receiving veterans services, Medicaid...
