Davos, Switzerland hosts the annual World Forum. For the first time, its participant is a former comedian, and now President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. On Wednesday evening, January 22, Zelensky spoke to the audience. More precisely - almost in front of an empty room. At a speech by the President of Ukraine, the audience was only a few people. At that time, for example, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, who spoke to Zelensky, gathered a full house. World leaders seem to have realized that Zelensky is an empty suit as a politician and an extremely hollow person. In...

WASHINGTON — The United States and Iran exchanged escalating military threats on Friday as President Trump warned that he was “prepared to take whatever action is necessary” if Iran threatened Americans and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed to exact vengeance for the killing on Mr. Trump’s order of Iran’s most valued general. Although the president insisted that he took the action to avoid a war with Iran, the continuing threats further rattled foreign capitals, global markets and Capitol Hill, where Democrats demanded more information about the strike and Mr. Trump’s grounds for taking such a provocative move without...

"I don't want to be a flat Earther," David Weiss says, his voice weary as he reflects on his personal awakening. "Would you wake up in the morning and want everyone to think you're an idiot?" But Weiss is a flat Earther. Ever since he tried and failed to find proof of the Earth's curve four years ago, he's believed with an evident passion that our planet is both flat and stationary -- and it's turned his world upside down. "I absolutely freaked out," Weiss tells CNN in a phone interview. "It literally whips the rug out from underneath you."...

U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is currently polling at just 1% nationally among the Democrats running for president, although she fares better in Iowa and New Hampshire. Who exactly are her supporters? According to the opinion poll analyses website FiveThirtyEight, the Hawaii Democrat’s support is “predominantly male” (her support among women is “practically nonexistent”) and “likely to fall outside of traditional Democratic circles.”

Russia Derangement Syndrome: Syria Edition by David Archibald 6 August 2018 The road to hell is paved with good intentions. So it has been with US involvement in Syria. To provide a context to that involvement, let’s start part way through the story with the self-immolation of a Tunisian vegetable vendor on December 17, 2011, driven to despair by harassment from petty officials. That spark set off the Arab Spring. A number of Arab regimes changed; some remained resilient. That wasn’t good enough for David Cameron and Nicholas Sarkozy, the then leaders of the UK and France respectively. Their armed...

News Russia claims Syrian rebels planning Idlib chemical weapons attack The Kremlin has claimed that rebels are planning a chemical weapons attack with the intent of blaming it on Syria. Russia also says a British contractor is helping the militants... Russia's Defense Ministry said Saturday that Syrian rebels are planning a chemical weapons attack, with the aim of blaming it on the Syrian government to provoke a military response from the West. The ministry issued a statement quoting unnamed sources claiming that the jihadi group Levant Liberation Committee — also known as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham — is preparing an attack...

No, I am not going to start this post with a disclaimer about how much I personally dislike Alex Jones and Infowars. No, I don't believe everything he says, anymore than I believe CNN or any other outlet, but I enjoy hearing a wide variety of perspectives. I also believe that a lot of important political activities happen behind closed doors, and I'm curious to find out as much as I can about the most important of them, and that apparently makes me a "conspiracy theorist". Further, having watched a fair amount of Alex Jones over the years, he has...

For nearly 50 years, the mainstream media and the Democratic Party apparatus have said that "white men" are the most "dangerous voting bloc" because they are "racist, sexist, imperialist, colonialist, traditional, exclusive, too suburban, too rural, too in love with law-and-order, too patriotic, privileged, aristocratic, autocratic". However, it is all junk from the Left. I believe the most dangerous voting group in America today is white suburban women. They are anti-gun to the core, a small handgun makes them scared. I can understand people being afraid of an AR-15 because it is usually held by U.S. Armed Forces, but 10-20...

... On the right, hatred of Russia also runs deep, and little or no distinction is made in most quarters between things Russian and Soviet. As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a Russian patriot and the anti-communist par excellence, told an interviewer in 2006, that is very disappointing, indeed. Why such blindness and rigidity across the political and media class in the Western world, and in the United States in particular?

Russia foils massive attack on its Syrian bases by electronically “controlling” 6 drones, downing seven The Defense Ministry in Moscow revealed on Monday, Jan. 8: A massive terrorist drone attack on Russian military and naval bases in Syria was thwarted by electronic measures and anti-air weapon fire. The statement said that overnight on Jan. 6, Syrian “militants” (terrorists) sent a large swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles to attack Russia’s Tartus Naval base and Khmeimim air base. Russian defenses took control of six drones and its Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system shot down another seven. .... they used electronic measures...

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on Senator Ayotte for VP. She appears to come across well and could fit in well with Trump. I have been pushing Rubio but maybe she is a viable option as well. She doesn't appear to me as someone who would suck all the oxygen out of the room and where it would be all about her which was a concern I had about picking a woman.

One area in which Trump can be nailed down is his overall view of trade. As I explained at Conservative Review, when it comes to Trump’s own financial dealings, he is an unrepentant globalist, from which he has made a fortune. But these days, as he runs for president, the billionaire is a radical protectionist who has repeatedly declared his intention to impose massive tariffs aimed at the economies of other countries, such as Japan and Mexico, and a forty-five percent tariff on products from China. Such broad tariffs would most certainly result in retaliation by the targeted countries. This...

Shortly after Barack Obama swept into the White House while giving Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid a coattail Marxist Congress, Newsweek Magazine ran the cover "We're all Socialists now,"... ...it took until last night before it was literally true, as New Hampshire gave a full-throated socialist a rout over semi-socialist Hillary Clinton on the Democrat side and the once and now apparently again socialist Donald Trump won... ...In case you missed the final score, it was Bernie by about 18 over Hillary and Trump by about 18 over John Kasich. Yes, John Kasich. ... ...Trump has flirted with socialist talking...

CNN is not only desperate to absolve itself of its legitimate responsibility for spreading the false idea that Dr. Ben Carson was dropping out of the presidential race last week, CNN is also hoping to complete a three-bank shot that will damage Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the process. Saturday night, CNN went so far as to have their phony left-wing "fact-checker" Tom Foreman lie about Cruz. For all of this to make sense, let's start at the beginning. Last Monday night, during the Iowa Caucus, I watched CNN live and saw the Carson segment in question that lit this...

I know there are some of you who are willing to do what it takes to win but you want to make sure you do so with character and integrity. There's a line you don't want to cross. You are fine going up to that line and doing whatever you can that is within bounds but you don't want to cross that line and I am totally with you on that. I am going to walk you through this faux outrage story regarding Ben Carson and Ted Cruz. I'm going to walk you through a timeline but before I do,...

...At this very critical juncture in our history, while our nation and our liberties have been ravaged by the Obama years, and life as we know it in this nation hangs precariously by a thread, Fox News, Limbaugh, Levin, and Hannity have gambled with our future, knowing we have no collateral to back up the game. For months, these fair weather friends of conservatism have heaped slovenly, starry-eyed adoration on Donald Trump. Trump - that gilded toad, who's conservative history began at about the time he decided to run as a Republican has been shoved in our faces from the...

Conservative ideologues want to keep things essentially as they are, making only marginal and generally ineffective changes. Populists want to change things to be more consistent with what "we the people" want. Often, what we the people want is better than what our "leaders" want or try to provide. Under these definitions, Trump is a populist, not a conservative ideologue. That's good.According to Dictionary. com, these are attributes of "conservatives:" Disposed to preserve existing conditions, restore traditional ones, and to limit change. According to the same source, "populism" means: Any of various, often anti-establishment or anti-intellectual political movements or philosophies that...
